Emil ‘Magisk’ Reif

Emil ‘Magisk’ Reif is a 19-year-old esports player from Denmark, practising Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. He currently plays for Optic Gaming, taking on the rifler position assisting his team towards winning CS matches.

Emil is confident playing the Overpass map as he can use his playstyle to do risky CS strategies and play defensively. For his performance in esports tournaments competing for SK Gaming and Dignitas, Magisk was voted the 14th best player of 2016 by HLTV.org.

Gaming aside, Emil loves to travel with his teammates to different countries especially to compete in esports events. He also likes to travel and spend his vacation with his family, in fact, some of the countries he has visited include Mallorca and Dubai.

Where it all began:

Emil was about 8-years-old when he started playing casually Counter-Strike 1.6 with his cousins and friends. Many spectators that watched him play saw how good he was at his young age but he never thought he would pursue Counter-Strike on a professional level.

Reif’s professional gaming career kicked off in 2015 with his first unit, team123 eventually moved on to play for stfuNerd and mTw. It was thanks to SK Gaming that Emil made his debut, all eyes on young Magisk showing off his capabilities of beating top CSGO teams with his smart moves and explosive aggression of the Counter-Terrorist side.

The Team:

Optic Gaming was formed by a group of competitive Call of Duty players in the summer of 2006. Since then the organization has grown to support teams that compete in COD, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Halo, Gears of War, Dota 2, League of Legends and PlayerUnknowns Battlegrounds.

Winnings:

The memorable big moment for Magisk was while playing for Team Dignitas at the EPICENTER 2016. The CSGO squad reached the Grand Finals defeating Fnatic and Natus Vincere, leading them to the Grand Finals against Virtus.Pro. Dignitas beat VP with a record 2-1 to win the premier title to claim the well-deserved prize of $250K.

Reif’s second accomplishment was at the ESL Pro League Season 5 – Finals whilst representing North. The CSGO squad reached the finals beating the likes of Mousesports, Navi, NRG and Optic Gaming. Reaching the Grand Finals, North played their best against G2 Esports but failed to win the match with a record of 1-3, despite the loss, they finished in second place to receive $100K in winnings.
