Optic Gaming is an American esports company that was founded in 2006 by a group of gaming enthusiasts who wanted to compete in Call of Duty. The association is famous for its squads that specialise in COD, Halo, Gears of War and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
Optic Gaming CS: GO team was founded in January 2016 consisting of former Conquest team members. Optic’s very first match was at the ELEAGUE Road to Vegas winning them a prize of $35K. The highest accomplishment so far for Optic Gaming was winning over Astralis at the premier event, ELEAGUE Season 2, to claim a reward of $400K.
In 2017, Optic Gaming has competed in esports tournaments such as Eleague Major: Atlanta 2017, DH Masters Las Vegas, CS_Summit, IEM Sydney, Subaru Invitational, ESL One: Cologne. They have also participated in a number of qualifying matches such as EPICENTER, PGL Major Krakow 2017 among many esports tournaments. Optic Gaming will be participating in the CS: GO tournament, IEM Oakland that will be held in November 2017.
Oscar ‘Mixwell’ Canellas is a Spanish pro who takes on the role of an awper for his squad, Optic. He used to play Counter-Strike 1.6 and Source giving him a better understanding of different strategies to be a better player. He began his professional CS: GO career in 2013 with 34united Club, where mixwell moved on to play for OverGaming, Epilson and gBots Esports Club.
Adam ‘friberg’ Friberg is a Swedish cyber athlete competing in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive for Optic as their in-game leader and rifler. The first video game he ever played was Counter Strike Source and from then on has never stopped gaming. Pursuing his professional career as a player, he joined his first esports team, Rockstar in 2012 and has also played for Ninjas in Pyjamas.
Aleksi ‘allu’ Jalli is a 25-year-old Finnish gamer who plays Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, taking on the awper position for Optic Gaming. He started his professional career in CS 1.6 where he joined his first esports team, munkka in 2010. In 2012 like other pro gamers, he made the switch to CS: GO and has played for top units such as The Hawks, Mousesports, NiP, Team Liquid and Faze Clan among many.
Emil ‘Magisk’ Reif is a talented Danish CS: GO rifler currently competing for Optic. He started playing Counter-Strike 1.6 when he was eight years old watching his cousins and friends play together just for fun. Emil is confident playing the Overpass map as he can use his playstyle to do risky CS strategies and play defensively. For his performance in esports tournaments competing for SK and DIG, Magisk was voted the 14th best player of 2016 by HLTV.org.
Kevin ‘HS’ Tarn is a 20-year-old cyber-athlete that hails from Estonia. He trains full time in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, taking on the role of entry fragger for Optic Gaming. His passion for gaming began in 2015 playing for OnlineBOTS. He developed his fighting skills with other units such as Unity, Rogue and Penta Sports.
