Mikka ‘suNny’ Kemppi

Mikka ‘suNny’ Kemppi is a professional player who trains in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive for his current team, Mousesports. Kemppi takes on the position of lurker by outperforming his opponents and showing his potential to perform among higher level teams in CS tournaments.

Gaming aside, SuNny loves to work out at the gym as well as relax and de-stress playing golf. In his free time, he likes to appreciate nature going for country walks early morning or afternoon with his teammates. When Mouz SuNny is travelling to compete in CS events, after the unit trains, Kemppi goes sightseeing and ends the day drinking with his friends, celebrating their hard work.

Where it all began:

Mikka was always into video games ever since he was young. SuNny would dream that one day he could earn a living playing games all day which gave him the drive to continue his passion. He started practicing and developing his fighting skills with Counter-Strike Source competing for an esports team, ajuri in 2012.

Like all gamers, Kemppi made the switch to Counter-Strike Global Offensive, which he found much easier to adapt since he had a strong background of CS 1.6. In 2013, suNny joined CS: GO team TOOMUCHVIDEOGAMES to compete in esports tournaments and has learnt CS strategies while on other squads like ENCE eSports, ENCORE, Team Roccat and Penta Sports.

The Team:

Mousesports is a European esports company based in Germany, mostly famous for their Counter-Strike unit. The association started out with a CS Source unit that made a name for themselves in minor esports tournaments and eventually competed in larger premier matches. Mouz support several squad that specialize in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2, Street Fighter, Vainglory and Paladins.

Mousesports created their CS: GO unit in 2012 and have since participated in matches, racking up a total of $1 million in earnings as a team. Mouz have recently acquired suNny from Penta Sports and Styko from Hellraisers to join ChrisJ, oskar and ropz to take their CS gaming to new heights.

Competition Participation:

The latest CS: GO competitions attended by suNny and his current team Mousesports include the qualifying matches of ROG Masters 2017 – EMEA, StarLadder i-League #2 Europe, IEM Oakland and EPICENTER 2017. The CS unit Mouz have participated in major or premier competitions that include Hellcase Cup #6, Eleague CS: GO Premier 2017 and DreamHack Masters Malmo.

Competing for Mousesports at prestigious esports tournaments, Kemppi has had the gaming experience of facing top units such as Gambit Gaming, NiP, Team Dignitas, NV, Heroic, Fnatic, Space Soldiers and Faze Clan.

In the beginning of 2017, while with Penta Sports, he developed his fighting skills going against top CS squads that include Flipsid3 Tactics, Vega Squadron, BIG, Red Reserve and Team LDLC.com among many others.

Winnings:

The greatest achievement in Kemppi’s career so far was the ESG Tour Mykonos 2017 playing for Mousesports. The CS squad fought against top Team Liquid winning the match with a score 3-2 tom claim their rightful prize of $120K.

The second highest for Mikka was while playing for Penta Sports at the ESEA Season 24: Global Challenge. The squad fought to reach the finals, taking the Major title with an unbeatable score of 2-0 against top team, BIG to win a total prize of $18K.
