Johannes ‘nex’ Maget

Johannes ‘nex’ Maget is a 25-year-old German cyber athlete who trains and competes in CSGO, taking on the role of rifler for his squad, BIG. He is well known to make the impossible possible with his impacting decisions in-game and win rounds.

Being a professional player, nex gets to travel with his teammates to different countries where esports events are held. Taking the opportunity to see the sights, enjoying country views and perhaps go for a swim in his free time.

Where it all began:

Johannes began playing Counter-Strike Source, practising and learning new strategies forming a strong background into the first person shooter game.

He developed his skills even further switching to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. His professional gaming career kicked off in 2012 with the esports team, EYES ON U and developed his skills with teams like Mousesports, Planetkey Dynamics, Penta Sports.

The Team:

BIG or also known as Berlin International Gaming was founded by former NRG players, gob b, Legija and tabsen in January 2017. A year has passed since its foundation supporting professional teams that play Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.

After spending a year competing for NRG, three pro players had a dream of forming a German team. The CSGO squad was formed under Berlin International Gaming and currently consists of three cyber athletes, gob b, tabsen and nex, as for the other two places have yet to be announced.

Competition Participation:

Nex and his team, BIG have recently participated in the Farmskins Championship for a spot at IEM Katowice, Eleague Major Boston 2018, DreamHack Winter, WESG Europe Finals, World Cyber Arena and DH Denver among many other esports tournaments.

Nex and his team have had the pleasure of competing against top CSGO teams like AGO Esports, Mouz, Space Soldiers, Navi, Cloud9, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Team Liquid and Gambit Gaming. Competing with the best esports teams, BIG have learnt from their mistakes, improving on their strategies and gameplay.

Winnings:

The greatest win for nex and his team at the time, Mousesports was at Eleague Season 1. On the way to the Semis, the CSGO squad defeated the likes of G2 Esports, Faze Clan, Astralis. Nex and his unit Mouz lost to Virtus.Pro in the Semifinals to finish in third place, winning a reward of $70K also earning a spot in Eleague Season 2.

The second achievement for nex was at the PGL Major Krakow 2017, competing for his team, BIG. On the way to the playoffs, the CSGO team beat top CS squads like Faze Clan, Cloud9 and SK Gaming. Nex and his unit, BIG managed to reach the quarterfinals but lost to Immortals to finish in seventh place and claim a reward of $35K while also earning a spot in the Eleague Major Boston 2018.

Maget’s third accomplishment was at the Europe Minor Championship Krakow 2017, playing for BIG. The CSGO team play the major esports tournament winning over top cs units like EnvyUs and Team Dignitas. Reaching the grand final, BIG defeated Penta Sports with an unbeatable score of 2-0, claiming the prize that amounts to an amazing $30K, earning a spot PGL Major 2017 qualifiers.
