François ‘AmaNEk’ Delauney

François ‘AmaNEk’ Delauney is a dedicated French esports player training in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive for his current team, Misfits. He takes on the responsibility of the rifler holding the bombsite to assist his teammates win the CS matches.

What Delauney likes about esports is the fact he can travel to many different countries and while there see the sights to break off from his daily routine of gaming all day, most especially at international esports events. He also takes the occasion to watch Basketball matches whenever possible and also follows snowboarding competitions.

Where it all began:

When Francois was young, he loved the idea of playing video games, competing with his friends and family to become good at any game he played. His first esports game was Counter-Strike 1.6 playing casually at a gaming club, where he met devoduvek in 2007 and have never stopped gaming.

Delauney pursued a professional career in esports in 2016 when he and Devoduvek joined MINLATE to compete in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Then François developed his skills and gameplay with Red Instinct, WE GOT GAME, Platinum Esports and Vexed Gaming. Ten years have passed since their friendship and the duo are still playing together for Misfits, taking their esports journey to new heights.

The Team:

Misfits is a European gaming company that was established in May 2016 by the founder Ben Spoont. The first team that was created was the League of Legends unit. As esports became even more popular, MSF expanded to support different squads that train and compete in Overwatch, Super Smash Bros, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Hearthstone.

Misfits launched their CS: GO unit in January 2017, signing on the former Team Solomid players. The professional gamers that will continue to play under MSF are seangares as the captain, SicK, ShahZaM, AmaNEk and Devoduvek.

Competition Participation:

The latest tournaments that Misfits have participated include ESL Pro League Season 6 – North America, iBUYPOWER Masters 2017, World Cyber Arena 2017 – NA Finals, IEM Oakland NA qualifiers, DreamHack Atlanta and DH Valencia 2017.

Over the past few months, Misfits battled against some of the top CS teams such as Optic, Liquid, Complexity, Soar Gaming, Luminosity, NRG, Renegades, Rise Nation, Hellraisers, NV and Red Reserve among many other esports units.

Winnings:

The greatest win so far for AmaNEk was with Misfits competing at the ESL Pro League Season 5 – North America. The Counter-Strike squad lost against Immortals with the score 13-16, to finish in 10th place, walking away with a prize of $17K.

The second great accomplishment for Misfits was most recent event held in November 2017, the Americas Minor Championship – Boston 2018. Misfits lost the battle over Team Liquid with the record 1-2, to win a reward of $15K and in the process earned themselves a spot in the upcoming qualifiers of Eleague Major 2018.

The third achievement for François and Misfits was at the DreamHack Tours. Reaching the Semi-finals, the CS unit played their best against Hellraisers unfortunately MSF lost with a score 0-2 finishing in fourth place, scooping up a reward of $10K.
