Yegor ‘Markeloff’ Markelov

Yegor ‘Markeloff’ Markelov is a 29-year-old esports player practicing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive from Ukraine. He is currently playing the rifler position for his team Flipsid3 Tactics and whenever the need arises he could take on the sniper role. In fact, he is widely regarded as one of the best CS 1.6 players showing his incredible awp and aggressive entry kills.

Gaming aside, Yegor likes to travel to different countries with his team mates, especially when competing at events, taking the opportunity to see the sights and perhaps go for a swim too. He likes to hang out with his friends, drinking beer and quite the competitive striker in a game of bowling.

Where it all began:

Young Yegor was quite curious, interested in every toy he came across, taking it apart piece by piece to understand how it was made. He would dream that one day he would win the World Championship and visit New York. When his father opened up a gaming club. Yegor started playing Counter-Strike 1.6 in 2004 together with his brother, Anton. However, markeloff managed to break records three times faster than his sibling and that was how he realized his potential as a professional gamer.

Markelov began playing competitively in CS 1.6 in 2008 with his first esports team, Amazing Gaming. In 2012, he was with Natus Vincere when Counter-Strike: Global Offensive was officially released which led him to switch and from then on never stopped playing CS: GO.

The Team:

Flipsid3 Tactics is an American esports organisation that was established in 2013. At the moment, the gaming association supports three teams, a CIS unit, a South African squad, Flipsid3 Tactics.za and an academy roster from US.

Flipsid3 Tactics created the CS: GO squad in September 2014, acquiring the squad highgrade. Fast forward to February 2015, F3 signed on dAT team with three pro players that remain to this day, b1ad3, WorldEdit and Markeloff. Eventually Flipsid3 acquired wayLander from Gambit and seized who also joined to represent Flipsid3.

Competition Participation:

Markeloff and his current team Flipsid3 Tactics have participated in esports qualifying events such as DreamHack Winter 2017 – Europe, Epicenter 2017, Eleague CS: GO Premier 2017, ESL One New York and DH Masters Malmo 2017. Some of the Major and Premier esports tournaments that F3 have taken part in include the World Cyber Arena 2017, ESEA Season 25: Global Challenge and PGL Major Krakow 2017.

Markelov has played actively played CS: GO since 2012, in that time he has competed for the National esports Team Ukraine, Hellraisers, Astana Dragons, Navi and DYS Gaming. He acquired the gaming experience competing against top CS units like ForZe, AVANGAR, Space Soldiers, Heroic, Penta Sports, Navi, Optic, Faze Clan and Cloud 9 among many other professional squads.

Winnings:

The most recent esports win for Markeloff was at the DreamHack Open Leipzig 2017. Representing Flipsid3 Tactics, the CS squad beat BIG with an unbeatable score 2-0 at the Major tournament, winning the championship title and proudly claiming a prize of $50K.

Another great win was back in 2010 when Markeloff was playing for Natus Vincere at the Intel Extreme Masters IV. The CS squad beat top team Fnatic with a remarkable record 2-0, taking the first prize of an amazing $50K at the premier event.

Another of the latest accomplishments for Yegor and his national esports Team Ukraine was at the WESG 2017 Europe Finals. The Counter-Strike unit beat Godsent with an amazing record of 2-1, taking the major championship title and to proudly claim the stunning reward of $40K.
