Oleksandr Kostylev is a 19-year-old Ukrainian pro gamer from Kiev, who goes by the alias, s1mple. He takes on the role of rifler and awper for Natus Vincere, competing in CS:GO. Kostylev is very calm person in general but in esports tournaments, he can be the aggressive player. He tends to keep an open mind which helps him make the right decisions in Counter-Strike and in his daily life.
Aside from gaming, Oleksandr loves to spend quality time with his family, friends and his girlfriend. His parents never miss an important match when s1mple is competing because they believe that one day s1mple will be the best top player in CS:GO.
Where it all began:
Oleksandr was introduced to computer games by his brother Alexey at the very young age of four. S1mple would sit next to his brother who would let him take the gaming mouse to shoot at targets in the video game.
After school, Kostylev would find time to play Counter-Strike at the local computer club until late, to get up the next day at seven in the morning to go to school and achieve good grades. In fact, after finishing high school, he entered University to study Major in Chinese but quit after the first semester to dedicate his time to professional gaming.
Natus Vincere is a Ukrainian esports company that was founded in 2009 by Alexander Kokhanovskyy. They started out with the former KerchNET players to compete in Counter-Strike under a new name, Natus Vincere.
NaVi CS:GO are determined and passionate about gaming that they feel born to win esports tournaments. The current Counter-Strike roster consists of seized as their in-game leader, Guardian, Edward, flamie, s1mple.
A great achievement for Kostylev was when he played for Team Liquid at the ESL One: Cologne 2016. His team managed to go through to the finals to finish second place losing to SK Gaming but were proud to win their highest prize of $150K.
Another great win for s1mple was while playing for NaVi at the ESL One: New York. He and his team beat Virtus.Pro 2:1 to claim their deserved reward of an amazing $125K.
