Nikolaj ‘niko’ Kristensen

Nikolaj ‘niko’ Kristensen is a 19-year-old professional gamer dedicated to training and competing in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. An ambitious player, niko takes on the position of an entry fragger for his current team, Heroic, showing off his explosive insane gameplays turning any round in his favour.

Outside of video games, Nikolaj spends his free time playing with his friends minigolf and working out at the gym. He loves to travel around the world with his teammates, most especially competing at esports events, also taking the opportunity to see the sights. He is also a fan of football in fact he follows the Champions league from time to time.

Where it all began:

Nikolaj was introduced to Counter-Strike Source by his friends, playing just for fun and proving to be quite a good CS player. Eventually he also took up Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, watching esports tournaments on television, aspiring that one day he will be a professional CSGO player.

Niko had impressed Danish pro gamer, Thomas ‘haste’ Dyrensborg with his CS skills. An opportunity of a lifetime, haste invited him to play for Revival Gaming and that was the start of his professional CS: GO career. Three years have passed and since then Nikolaj has never stopped gaming.

The Team:

Heroic is a Danish gaming company that was founded in August 2016 by the former SK Gaming players. The association supports one team that trains and competes in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Some of the previous players include gla1ve, Friis and valde, in fact CSGO players, niko, JUGi and es3tag joined Heroic to play alongside MODDII and Snappi their team captain.

Competition Participation:

Niko and his current Heroic team have participated in the qualifying matches of LOOT.BET Cup, WESG 2017 and the EPICENTER 2017 among many others. Showing the world their gaming potential, the hero players have lately taken part in DreamHack Winter 2017, World Cyber Arena, StarLadder i_league Invitational, ESG Tour Mykonos 2017, DreamHack Atlanta and DH Valencia among many esports tournaments.

Niko gaming experience has taught him a few new CS strategies and how to improve on his mistakes by competing against top CSGO teams like Mousesports, Natus Vincere, Gambit, Hellraisers and Dignitas.

Winnings:

The highest earnings for niko was the International Gaming League 2016 Grand Finals. playing for Heroic, the CS squad won against VG.CyberZen with an unbeatable record of 3-1. The CSGO players proudly claimed their prize of $43K winning the Major Championship title.

The second accomplishment was while playing for Heroic, niko competed at Eleague CS: GO 2017. The squad managed to reach the Quarterfinals, however they lost to top CS team North with the score 0-2. Heroic finished in eighth place to claim their reward of a surprising $35K.

Another achievement in Kristensen’s gaming career was at the DreamHack Atlanta 2017. At the Major tournament, niko and his team Heroic advanced to the finals but were defeated by EnVyUs with the score 1-2. Finishing in second place, the CS players proudly claimed their prize of $20K.
