Electronic Sports League will be organising a Dota 2 tournament, ESL One Hamburg 2018. The match will take place between 23rd till 28th October at the Barclaycard Arena, Hamburg in Germany. Twelve professional teams will get to participate in this event, playing their best strategies in the hopes of winning their share from a total prize pool of $300K.
ESL One Hamburg will be a celebration of all that is Dota 2, where you will get to see talented pro players compete against each other on the big stage. Fans like you from around the world will get to support your favourite teams sharing the emotions. A whole weekend dedicated to great battles, cosplay activities, signing sessions and so much more.
Another excellent opportunity for all gamers would be the You vs Pro tournaments at ESL One Hamburg 2018. This time around gaming enthusiasts could have the chance of a lifetime to compete against the pro player Matumbaman from Team Liquid which will be streamed live on Facebook.
Last year’s ESL One Hamburg 2017, the grand final featured Virtus. Pro who dominated the match over Team Secret to win a score of 2-0. VP walked out with their heads held high claiming their fantastic reward of $500K while Secret take home $200K as the second runner-up.
The eight professional teams that received direct invitations to participate include Evil Geniuses, Forward Gaming, Mineski, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Pain Gaming, Team Secret, Virtus. Pro and Vici Gaming. While four remaining units had to go through the regional qualifiers in Europe, North America, China and Southeast Asia to acquire their place at the ESL One Hamburg 2018.
All twelve teams will kick off the esports event in the Group Stage, divided into two groups of six. The two squads that rank the lowest will face elimination. However, the best eight dota 2 teams will advance to the Playoffs, entertaining esports fans with breathtaking moments while also making memories.

Representing Southeast Asia is the Dota team Mineski who was the fourth to receive a direct invitation. Their great accomplishment this year was winning the Dota 2 Asia Championships, beating PSG.LGD with a score of 3-2. After The International 8 took place, Mineski signed on three players, former Newbee player Damien ‘kpii’ Chok, Kim ‘Febby’ Yong-Min and Thiay ‘JT-‘ Jun Wen who will help their squad their gaming levels to new heights. Team Secret
Competing with a new roster, Team Secret have the chance to show the world their gaming strengths and so much more. Two players, Ludwig ‘Zai&/" and Clement ‘Puppey’ Ivanov won their last win together at ESL One Frankfurt back in 2015 defeating Evil Geniuses in the Grand Finals. Ninjas in Pyjamas
Peter ‘ppd’ Dager and his teammates have recently joined Ninjas in Pyjamas after Optic Gaming announced that their dota 2 lineup would disband. With the new acquisition of skilled gamers, NiP acquired their spot at the ESL One Hamburg 2018. Their remarkable recent win was the minor event, GG. Bet Invitational Season 1, where the newly formed squad beat Gambit Esports 2-0. Evil Geniuses
The great dota performances of Evil Geniuses at The International 2018 saw them finish in third place. The squad showed the world that they still have the potential, outplaying Team Secret, Virtus. Forward Gaming
The North American team Forward Gaming is made up of the former VGJ.Storm players. The active roster consists of professional gamers, Avery ‘SVG’ Silverman as the team coach, Arif ‘MSS’ Anwar, Saahil ‘UNiVeRsE’ Arora, Roman ‘Resolut1on’ Fominok and Yawar ‘ YaWaR’ Hassan. The dota squad have no experience playing together except for one tournament the North American qualifiers of The Kuala Lumpur Major.
