Robin ‘ropz’ Kool

Robin ‘ropz’ Kool is an esports player from Jögeva, Estonia. He trains in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, taking on the position of rifler for Mousesports. Dennis and former Mouz player, Niko have named ropz as the breakout player of 2017.

For a young esports player like Ropz, he has the versatility to handle different roles such as awping, lurking and calling the shots as in-game leader. He played for Estonian teams before joining Mousesports where he acquired the skills that make him a unique cyber athlete.

Where it all began:

When Robin was about 7, his older brother introduced him to play CS 1.6 for the very first time. When ropz was a young lad he used to watch pro players’ gaming videos and dream that one day he will be good esports player like them.

CS 1.6

When Counter-Strike 1.6 was not the trending game in 2013 and he started playing Call of Duty just for the fun of it. Kool heard about CS: GO but did not want to hear more about the game and hoped that gamers would keep playing 1.6. Robin was famous for his KZ mechanics but gets frustrated being called a cheater in 1.6.

The Team:

Mousesports is a gaming association that was founded in 2002 by the founder, Yilmaz Ozan in Berlin, Germany. The company is very famous for the success that their Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team have achieved so far. They started out competing in the small esports events, as years passed by acquiring the gaming skills, they have become one of the greatest European teams around. The units that Mouz support include CS:GO, Dota 2, Street Fighter V, Vainglory and Unreal Tournament.

Mousesports Counter Strike: Global Offensive was created in March 2012 and have had quite a few surprising successful matches against top teams raking up a total of $949K in winnings. The current CS: GO roster consists of ChrisJ as in-game leader, Styko, suNny, oskar and their newest former Penta player, ropz.

Competition Participation and Winnings:

To be a top team means to have the potential to beat strong CS units. So far Ropz has competed against high ranking teams lately such as Cloud 9, Flipsid3 Tactics, Penta Sports, and G2 Esports. This has definitely helped ropz learn new Counter-Strike Strategies to eventually implement in his game plays.

The highest earnings for Ropz was the ESL Pro League Season 5 – Finals while competing for Mousesports. The CS team lost to SK Gaming with the record 0:2, ranking in fifth place, taking home a prize of $45K.

The most recent esports tournaments attended by Mousesports include PGL Major Krakow, the European qualifiers of DreamHack Masters Malmo, ESL One Cologne, DH Summer among many competitions.
