Khoo ‘Ohaiyo’ Chong Xin

Khoo ‘Ohaiyo’ Chong Xin is a 24-year-old Malaysian cyber athlete that trains in Dota 2. He represents Fnatic handling the offlane role, playing his best with his favourite hero, Nature Prophet as well as Invoker, Batrider and Dark Seer. He is widely known for his aggressive playstyle, creating exciting and surprising moments in esports tournaments that makes him one of the best Dota players that Fnatic fans admire.

Aside from playing Dota, he kills time playing video games like Hearthstone and Dying Light. Ohaiyo loves to listen to his favourite song Faded by Alan Walker as for his all-time preferred anime series is Naruto.

Where it all began:

Warcraft video game

Khoo developed an interest watching his brother play 7 Kingdoms, a video game that instilled competition to be a good player. Eventually he played Warcraft for the next two years, casually. When he started attending High School, his classmates would talk about the trending video game Dota 2. From that moment on he never stopped playing, improving on his skills to become a pro dota player for there is always something new to learn which gives him the drive to keep on gaming.

The Team:

Fnatic is an esports company that was established in 2004 by Sam Mathews, Anne Mathews and Joris Van Laerhoven. The gaming association has headquarters based in UK with offices in Australia and The Netherlands. FNC started out with a Counter-Strike team and eventually expanded with units that compete in Dota 2, FIFA, Heroes of the Storm, League of Legends, Rocket League and VainGlory.

Fnatic created their Dota 2 team in 2011 with the Serbian former Gamerleague unit. Since then the squad has gone through changes to find the best players to represent FNC at esports tournaments. Since August 2017, Fnatic have signed on the top esports players, EternalEnVy as captain, Abed, Ohaiyo, DJ and pieliedie who will continue to compete in prestigious gaming tournaments.

Competition Participation:

Ohaiyo and his team Fnatic have participated in the most recent esports tournaments such as the DreamLeague Season 8 and ESL One Hamburg. As for qualifying matches Khoo took part in the Galaxy Battles II, MDL Macau, Dota Summit 8, AMD SAPPHIRE Dota Pit League among many other events.

Chong Xin has had the competitive experience going against top teams like Mineski, TNC, OG, EG, EHOME, Newbee, NP and Team Liquid. Playing with so many esports teams, he has acquired the knowledge learning from his mistakes and improving his gameplay to help Fnatic be on top again.

Winnings:

The favourite esports memory in Chong Xin’s competitive career was at The International 2016 while playing for Fnatic. The Dota 2 team reached the Semi-Finals, where they lost to Chaos, however, despite the loss FNC finished in fourth place winning a whopping prize of $1.4 million.

The second highest achievement was while Khoo represented Orange Esports at The International 2013. At the prestigious event, the squad lost to top esports team, Navi with a record of 1-2, Reaching third place in competiton, Ohaiyo and his team Orange proudly claimed their reward of a stunning $287K.
