Jakob ‘JUGi’ Hansen

Jakob ‘JUGi’ Hansen is a Danish 20-year-old pro player who trains and competes in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. He plays the awper position for his team, Heroic, developing his fighting skills and improving on his mistakes with the goal to be one of the best snipers in the world.

Jakob loves to travel with his teammates most especially when competing at CS: GO tournaments. He takes the opportunity to break away from gaming to see the sights, perhaps go for a swim or drink beer with his friends.

Where it all began:

Jakob developed an interest in Counter-Strike 1.6 in 2008 and improved on his fighting skills with the motivation that one day, he will become a professional gamer. His strong background in 1.6 has given him the knowledge and ability for the smooth transition into Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

Hansen’s competitive career in CS: GO began in 2015, while playing for madjicK Gaming. Hansen learnt new CS strategies and improved his gameplays playing with teams like Reason Gaming, Alpha and Tricked Esports. Currently playing for Heroic, Jakob’s first esports tournament he played for them was the ECS Season 3 qualifying match and from there has never looked back and continues to work hard to be better and best CS player.

The Team:

Heroic is a Danish gaming company that is owned by professional players. The esports association supports a professional squad that competes in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in esports tournaments. Heroic CS: GO was created by former Team X players in August 2016.

Since the foundation of the unit, there were a few roster changes, gla1ve left to join Astralis while niko joined to replace him, JUGI and es3tag were acquired from Tricked Esports to play alongside MODDII and the Heroic captain, Snappi.

Competition Participation:

JUGi and his Heroic team have participated in CS: GO qualifying matches such as LOOT.BET Cup, WESG 2017, Europe Minor Championship Boston 2018 and the EPICENTER 2017. Some of the prestigious tournaments that Jakob has taken part in include DreamHack Winter 2017, ECS Season 4, ESL Pro League Season 6, StarLadder i-League Invitational, ESG Tour Mykonos 2017 among many others.

Acquiring the competitive CS: GO experience, Jakob has competed against some of the top esports teams such as Mousesports, Navi, Hellraisers, Dignitas, EnvyUs, Red Reserve, Astralis and Immortals.

Winnings:

The highest earnings won by JUGi and his team Heroic was at the Eleague CS: GO Premier 2017. The CS squad lost to top team North in the Quarterfinals to finish in 8th place, claiming a reward of $35K.

The second great accomplishment for Hansen and the Heroic unit was at the World Cyber Arena 2017. The CS: GO squad beat Gambit Gaming with a record of 2-1 in Europe’s Main Stage Finals. Heroic won the Major League title and a total reward of $26K.

Another accomplishment for Heroic was at the Intel Extreme Masters XI World Championship. JUGi and his CS: GO unit were defeated by Astralis in the Semi-Finals, finishing in fourth place to claim their reward of a $23K.
