The Intel Extreme Master or IEM are a number of international esports competitions that take place in various countries around the globe. The IEM tournaments are organised by the Electronic Sports League, better known as ESL, which is currently the largest egaming event company worldwide. ESL, which is based in Cologne, Germany, is also has a massive share in broadcasting esport events and tournaments on Twitch.
Intel Extreme Master sponsor and co-organise tournaments in European and North American, offering egames such as Counter-Strike, Warcraft 3, World of Warcraft (WOW), Starcraft II and League Of Legends (LOL).
The IEM is now in its 11th Season. This year’s Season will see some of the best esport teams compete in major cities around the world such as Shangai, which took place in June, Oakland (US) which will take place during the month of November. Another two events are planned for December, in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea and finally, in March 2017, teams will be competing in Katowice, a city situated in southwestern Poland.
During this 11th Season held in Oakland, you will be able to see the ever growing and exciting knock-out stage from Quarter finals all the way up the final with a whopping prize of $300,000. There will be eight participating teams,
Teams such as Ninjas in Pyjamas, who currently hold the 2nd spot in the CS:GO world rankings, could possibly make it to the final, to face Mousesports or Viruts.Pro, two teams which are ranked in 6th and 7th place respectively. However, the battles will be long and no doubt stressful, so predictions really and truly can go anywhere. We could even see a new emerging champion from teams that have a lower ranking than the ones we’ve picked to possibly reach the final.
This will be one hell of an interesting event to bet on, that’s for sure!
