Christophe ‘SIXER’ Xia is a 26 year old pro gamer that competes in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive for EnVyUs. He is currently playing the awper position and can also handle the rifler role if the need arises. He had no nickname so his friend brought him a jersey from the Basketball team, SIXER and that was how he came up with alias.
Christophe describes CS:GO as amazing, prestigious and a big adventure that gives him the motivation to put in six hours of practice with his NV team. His dedication has given him the focus to improve on his fighting skills to play an additional two to three hours in his spare time.
Where it all began:
Christophe began playing Counter-Strike 1.6 when he was about ten years old with his friends and family. In 2006, SIXER joined his first esports team, Cowboyz and moved on with other units Millenium and eSahara until December 2011.
Xia switched to CS:GO in 2013 and has never regretted the change as he finds the video game far more better and exciting than CS 1.6. He does not consider himself a good gamer in fact he follows players like Snacks, KennyS, Fallen and his favourite gamer, Coldzera so as to improve and develop his fighting skills.
EnvyUs is an American esports company that was founded by Mike’ Hastro’ Rufail in 2007. The team is also known as The Boys in Blue mostly famous for Call of Duty successful background. With success on their side, they currently support esports teams that compete in CS:GO, Gears of War, Halo, League of Legends, Overwatch and Starcraft.
NV originally started out a Counter-Strike team with the former players of LDLC in February 2015 to continue playing competitively under a new name. Over the years the roster has changes a few times with the latest additions of MaLek as Coach, devoduvek left NV to join Misfits. The present CS:GO lineup consists of Happy, ScreaM, SIXER, Rpk and xms.
The most recent CS:GO tournaments that NV have participated in include ESL Pro League Season 5, the European qualifiers of the ESL One Cologne ’17 and Minor Championship Krakow 2017. NV have taken part in big esports tournaments such as the DreamHack Tours 2017, cs_summit and the Eleague Major 2017.
NV have played against some of the top Counter-Strike: Global Offensive teams like Vega Squadron, Team Liquid, Tricked Esport, G2, Hellraisers, Faze Clan, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Virtus.Pro and Penta Sports.
The biggest win for Sixer and his team, EnVyUs was at the World Electronic Sports Games 2016. The CS:GO team beaten top CS squads like Tyloo and Space Soldiers on their way to the last match of the tournament. NV have taken the title, beating Team Kinguin in the finals with the score 2:0 to claim their top prize of $800K.
Their second great win for Sixer and NV was the premier match, ECS Season 2 – finals. The professional team finished in fourth place losing to Optic Gaming with the record 0:2 to proudly claim their amazing prize of $65K.
