Electronic Sports League (ESL) will be organizing an international event, the IEM Gyeonggi between 16th and 18th December 2016. Two game competitions, League of Legends and Starcraft, will be held at the Goyang Sports Complex in Korea.
Esports LOL squads from Korea, Europe, North America, China, Taiwan and also two International Wildcard qualifiers will compete against each other for the IEM Gyeonggi Championship. The winning teams ranking and performance will give them a spot in the next Intel Extreme Masters event in Poland 2017.
COUNTER LOGIC GAMING
CLG was founded in April 2010; the oldest LOL squad that still competes to the present day. Counter Logic have participated lately in esports events like the 2016 World Championship, earning the highest match points.
IMAY
A Chinese League of Legends team was created in May 2016, acquiring Edward Esports roster. In the LPL Summer playoffs, they managed to beat Invictus gaming and Snake Esports. Reaching the semi-finals IMay lost against Royal Never Give Up, finishing third place.
KONGDOO MONSTERS
A Korean esports organization was formerly known as e-mFire. The new name as from 2nd February became Kongdoo Monsters, made up of five gamers, Roach, Punch, Edge, SSol, GuGer.
DARK PASSAGE
In 2003, the first Turkish esports unit in Turkey was created. The squad played the 2016 International Wildcard match for an entry to compete in IEM Gyeonggi. The players that form the squad are Elwind, Immortoru, Rogu as well as temporary Substitutes, Phaxi, HolyPhoenix and K0u.
VEGA SQUADRON
This dedicated Russian LOL team is the second International Wildcard that qualified the Vega Squadron to participate in the IEM XI Gyeonggi. The six talented gamers that form Vega squad are NoNholy, Zanzarah, Drobovik, Lex and Edward.
J TEAM
A Taiwanese unit, formerly known as Taipei Assassins was created in April 2016, specializing in League of Legends. Six professional players who make up this team are Morning, REFRA1N, BeBe, FoFo, Jay and Achie.
