Ksenia ‘Vilga’ Klyuenkova is a Russian professional cyber athlete who competes in CS:GO for Team Secret. Having played Counter-Strike for the past ten years, the game has become her life’s work.
Through CS: GO, Klyuenkova met her boyfriend and professional players, who have kept in touch over these past five years. What she likes about the video game is that she gets to travel to many countries across the world and compete in Counter-Strike focusing on faring well at the prestigious events.
Where it all began:
Ksenia had a passion for gaming ever since she was in her teens, she used to play tennis which helped bring out her competitive spirit. She started her gaming career playing Counter-Strike 1.6 where she learnt not to give up, achieve goals, making important decisions based on information given.
Team Secret is a European gaming company, that started with a Dota 2 squad after The International 2014. Expanding their association, Secret created a CS:GO team in March 2016, signing the former players, WeRunThisPlace after their success taking first prize in the IEM Katowice 2016. The current CS roster consists of Juliano, Vilga, Nylon, Mimimicheater and zAAz.
Team Secret’s first CS: GO tournament was the Copenhagen Games 2016. The unit won against Counter Logic Gaming Red taking home a cash prize of $3,900. They have also taken part in the qualifier, Starladder Female Stars Championship – Europe where they defeated Team LDLC.com Female and Reason Gaming Female squad.
The most recent win was the Intel Challenge Katowice 2017, where Team Secret won the finals against Team Dignitas Female, taking home a prize pool $15K. In the final tournament, Vilga scored a triple, a quad and an ACE that helped dominate the second half of the match that secured a win.
Their second biggest accomplishment for Team Secret was the Esports World Convention 2016 Women event. The squad defeated Selfless Gaming Female, scooping the reward of $7K.
