zAAz Zainab Turkie

Zainab ‘zAAz’ Turkie is a 25-year-old Swedish CS:GO player who plays the rifler position for Team Secret. She is one of the experienced and talented gamers around, having had the opportunity to compete for Fnatic, Meet Your Makers and team ALTERNATE.

Where it all began:

Zainab ‘zAAz’ Turkie was eleven when she used to watch her brothers play a lot of Counter-Strike 1.6 and was encouraged to play. Try the game she did and got hooked to CS which led her to play professionally. At first zAAz found gaming hard, feeling a lot of the pressure, dedicating time to train and practice because she wanted to become the best player.

The Team:

Team Secret female csgo team

Team Secret is an esports company that was established in 2014, starting out with a Dota 2 team just after The International 2014. The organisation have expanded to add a female squad competing in CS:GO, signing up the former WeRunThisPlace after achieving success at the IEM Katowice.

Competition Participation:

Turkie has participated in many CS:GO events, these include DreamHack Winter 2013 qualifying stage, SENNHEISER Female CSGO 2013, GameGune 2014, GamePlan Female League among others.

Electronic Sports World Cup

The most recent tournaments attended by zAAz were the Copenhagen Games 2016, eSports World Convention 2016 Women and the Starladder Female Stars Championship.

Through Turkie’s gaming career, zAAz has competed against some renowned teams like Reason Gaming, CLG RED, Team LDLC.com, Mousesports, SK Gaming, Ubinited and many famous CS:GO units.

Winnings:

Turkie’s very first win was at the premier CS:GO tournament, Electronic Sports World Cup Masters of Paris Women. Back in 2008, ZAAz played for Les Seules where they beat SK Ladies taking home a reward of $7,500.

Zainab’s greatest achievement was while playing for WeRunThisPlace at the Intel Challenge Katowice 2016, defeating CLG Red to take home a surprising $15K.

The most recent achievement was with Team Secret playing at eSports World Convention 2016 Women winning over Selfless Gaming Female scooping a $7K reward.
