ESL Pro League Season 5 has come and gone and so have a slew of hype tournaments. Just before Season 6 starts up, I think it’s the perfect time to take a look at who’s who in the world of CS:GO.
Your Top 5 Teams in the World
Honorable Mention
Gambit Esports
It seems odd not to see Gambit Esports in the top five. Now statistically I understand why they don’t have a permanent home up top but in all honesty I personally rank them 3rd in the world. Even though they have crushed the likes of SK Gaming, Astralis and have been on fire this year… I just can’t confidently put them in a top 5 until I see consistent wins.
#5 – Team Liquid
Coming in on the kaboose, Team Liquid has not been making a big splash in the csgo scene but they are consistently a middle tier team.
#4 – FaZe Clan
A recent disgusting loss at the PGL Major Krakow 2017 has made me shaky on FaZe but their year has been anything but gross.
#3 – G2 Esports
G2 won the Season 5 ESL Pro League Finals and even though they still haven’t really stepped up to bat in LAN tournaments, going into Season 6 I’ll stack them high.
#2 – Astralis
Astralis along with our #1 placed team, switch positions often. Astralis is and has been a top tier team and it doesn’t look like they’ll slow down this year.
#1 – SK Gaming
Even with a loss at the PGL Major Krakow 2017, SK Gaming has had an amazing 2017 season. They’ve made well over $800,000 USD and the year isn’t up yet. They have had 7 first place finishes this year over their premiers and majors, as well as three 2nd place finishes.
