DreamHack Summer 2019

DreamHack Summer is an annual esports event that celebrates all that is gaming under one roof. There will be a CSGO Major tournament spread over the course of three days from the 15th till 17 June in Jönköping, Sweden at the Elmia Convention Center. The competition will feature eight Counter-Strike teams competing in the virtual battlefield fighting for the highest share from a total prize pool of $100K. 

DreamHack Summer is famous among the esports fans around the world for the Bring Your Own Computer (BYOC) LAN, esports matches, cosplay, live concerts, the expo and much more activities. Calling all gaming fans out there, you should try and visit this competition at least once in your lives. The atmosphere in the arena is something you need to experience, especially if you love gaming and esports. What’s more, you get to feel the competition; you become a participant in the esports event.  

DH Summer 2019 will feature a live concert for all those music lovers who like dancing to the beat. The show will take place at the Open-air stage held on Sunday 16 June, featuring the commercial music from Rootkit, the artistic visuals and sonic sounds by Droeloe. The concert will continue with a performance by The Pegboard Nerds, followed by the Modestep, a bass-infused band strongly influenced by rock and underground Bass music.

History of DreamHack Summer

Going back two years to DreamHack Summer 2017, the four Semi-finalists were Immortals vs Fnatic 1-2 and CLG vs SK Gaming 1-2. The two lucky teams FNC and SK got to face off each other in the Grand Finals. The tournament kicked off with SK defeating Fnatic in the Inferno map with a gap of 8 points difference. The tables turned when FNC won the second map Overpass over SK Gaming. With a draw so far in the match, the third map on Mirage was the decider game. Fnatic lost to SK with a record of 8-16, the Brazilian team now known as MIBR took the DH Summer 2017 title and the highest prize of $50K.

Imperial win DH summer 2018 esportsonly.com

Summer went and came back again in 2018 for another DH esports event in Sweden. A new set of four Semi-finalists saw Optic Gaming vs North with a result of 2-1 and The Imperial vs Gambit Esports with a record 2-0. The two finalists featured Optic vs The Imperial, going through the first round, it was clear which team was the strongest. The incredible score 7-16 in favour of The Imperial was a surprise to many CS fans as Optic had much more competitive experience. The second game, Optic fought harder, but it was not enough to beat their opponents The Imperial won the match in Mirage with 12-16 which led to their win 2-0, taking the DreamHack Summer 2018 title.

CR4ZY

The team known as Valiance have recently rebranded to CR4ZY. The CS team have lately won several tournaments improving their gaming strategies. They earned their spot at DreamHack Summer 2019 winning the Grand Final European qualifiers. The valiant soldiers defeated Winstrike in two CS maps, Mirage and Inferno.

A look that the past results, this team seem to be improving their gaming performances. The results show that the Valiance squad came second at DH Tours 2019, fourth at DreamHack Rio 2019, first at the United Masters League Season 1 and the World Electronic Sports Games 2018 finishing in sixth place.

Team Ancient

The Counter-Strike Ancient team or also known as TA hail from Sweden, acquired their place at the upcoming DreamHack Summer 2019, after winning the Swedish qualifiers. At present, their squad comprises of two players, Pronax and Znajder since Robin, Kreaz and Peppzor left the active roster on 4 April. They will need to find another three to replace in time for the matches. Add to this Team Ancienhave not had much competitive experience in major tournaments; in fact, Dreamhack Summer is the third Major the unit have attended. TA has a long way to go to advance to the Playoffs unless perhaps luck or a better counter strategy is in place to win a game.
