DreamHack Summer 2017

DreamHack will be organising an event in Jonkoping in Sweden, bringing the CS:GO action to many esports fans worldwide between the 17 till 20 June 2017. Millions of esports fans will be watching eight teams go head-to-head for their well-deserved share of $50K.

DreamHack is one of the world’s largest esports tournaments to date, having started out as a LAN Party in the early 90’s at a school cafeteria in Malung. Every year the matches have taken place attracting hundreds if not thousands to the DH festival featuring esports competitions, concerts, cosplay and the DreamExpo.

Since 2002, the gaming festival, DreamHack Summer became an annual event taking place in June while DH Winter would take place in November. Through the years, several top teams like SK Gaming and Fnatic have won the league twice as well as Ninjas in Pyjamas winning four times. Immortals won DreamHack Summer 2016 beating NiP to scoop the cash prize of $50K.

Six teams will be directly invited to participate while two teams will have to compete for their spot as European and North American qualifiers. Eight teams will be divided into two groups of four where the best two in each group will go through to the Semi-finals. The crème de la crème of CS:GO squads will battle it out in the Grand Final of DreamHack Summer 2017.

The five top CS:GO teams have been announced, these include SK Gaming, Gambit Gaming, Fnatic, Immortals and Mousesports. Stay tuned to know which teams will be participating in the DreamHack Summer of 2017. As June  comes closer, the pressure builds up, which team do you think will triumph to take the title?
