Choi ‘Pirean’ Jun-sik

Choi ‘Pirean’ Jun-sik is a 19-year-old South Korean cyber athlete competing for Team EnVyUs. His role for the team is that of a mid laner, showing off his gaming skills with his favourite LOL heroes, Zyra, Azir and Ryze.

His family back in Korea are very supportive of Choi’s chosen career although they weren’t too happy about it in the beginning. Ever since Pirean travelled to the US pursue his dream, he has adapted to the American way of life. His favourite food is Pork but he also enjoys eating chicken sandwiches.

Where it all began:

Choi always dreamt that one day he will be a professional player playing League of Legends and since his game plays were very good, he travelled to America to fulfil his goal. He wanted to show many esports fans around the world, proving his worth and capabilities on a high level.

Pirean began his esports career with Team Impulse in January 2016. He learnt and acquired the skills to be where he is today as a professional player that has competed for Pheonix 1 and now for NV.

The Team:

EnVyUs is an North American esports team that was created around an interest to take esports to the next level, gathering professional players to compete for them. The company was founded by Mike ‘Hastro’ Rufail in 2007 and since then has grown to support teams that play Call of Duty, CS:GO, Gears of War, Halo, League of Legends, Overwatch and Starcraft.

EnVyuS LOL was created in May 2016 after acquiring the Renegades roster and their spot in the LCS league. The NV League of Legends roster includes Seraph, LirA, Apollo, Hakuho as well as the latest additions, Nisqy and Pirean. The team is a well-rounded lineup that has improved on their team fighting and closing the game to win the LOL competitions.

Competition Participation and Winnings:

NV Pirean has participated in North American LCS tournaments in his gaming career so far, despite the fact that he is a good player, statistically he is not a top performer. While with Team Impulse, Jun-sik has competed in the NA LCS Spring 2016 that qualified them to play in the Spring Playoffs, where TIP lost to Team Liquid with the record 2:3.

A great achievement for Pirean was with Pheonix1, taking part in the North American LCS Spring Promotion where the squad beat Echo Fox with a record of 3:0 and also defeated NRG. Along came the Summer Promotion where he and his team defeated Apex Gaming scoring another remarkable record, 3:1.
