cs_summit 4 is an upcoming CS:GO event scheduled to take place in Los Angeles between May 23rd – 26th. As the name suggests, this will be the 4th edition of this great tournament organized by BeyondTheSummit and having seen the previous three, we look forward to it.

General Characteristics of cs_summit 4

What makes cs_summit 4 such an amazing competition is the atmosphere created by the fact that everyone is sitting under one small roof at the Summit House. The conversations are genuine and spontaneous and that gives the event a very natural vibe. In a way, the whole thing is a mixture of professional matches and discussions among some of the world’s best, who often take part in commenting entire matches and analyzing the other competitors.

cs_summit 4 Participants

cs_summit 4 brings together six teams. Most of them are North American, but you will see a few competitors from Europe as well.

  • ENCE
  • Ghost Gaming
  • Team Liquid
  • NRG Esports
  • Renegades
  • Team Vitality

This is an impressive list of participants and at least four of these teams are serious contenders for the title. Of course, Team Liquid is in a class of their own, but ENCE, Renegades and even Team Vitality have shown in recent months that they can play and be successful against any opponent.

Team Analysis

Here’s a brief analysis of each of the six teams that will take part in cs_summit 4.

Team Liquid

Just like in the 2018 competitive season, Team Liquid is consistently getting amazing results and playing in Grand Finals. They still lose most of those key matches, just like they did last season, but the fact that they can get to that stage with such consistency is a clear indicator that Liquid is one of the world’s best teams and will be hard to stop by anyone except the very best.

At the recent BLAST Pro Series Miami, Liquid finished 2nd after losing to FaZe Clan in the Grand Final. The loss was very surprising given the fact that the NA team had crushed everyone in the round robin, including FaZe.

Prior to BPS Miami, Liquid had taken part in BPS Sao Paulo, where again, they finished 2nd. This time, their opponent was their nemesis Astralis.

In 2019, Team Liquid had two other notable results: 1st place at iBUYPOWER Masters IV and 5th – 8th place at IEM Katowice 2019.

Thanks to all of these results, Liquid is now regarded as the second-best team in the world, after Astralis. And they’ve been sitting there for 4 months.

Liquid Favorites For cs_summit 4

Going into cs_summit 4, Liquid will be the team to watch, as the event is theirs to lose. The main opponent they will have to beat is ENCE. Somehow, allu and his squad seem to know exactly what to do against Liquid. Where everyone else except Astralis fails, they have solutions. And as a result, ENCE defeated Liquid in the IEM Katowice Major and then secured a draw against them at BPS Sao Paulo.

Based on everything we know and have seen so far in 2019, Team Liquid should win this tournament. There’s really no reason for them not to. The location is pretty much their back yard and there will not be the usual pressure from fans at this event. Also, keep in mind that Liquid won the 2nd edition of cs_summit, so they already have the experience of winning this kind of tournament.

ENCE

As of February this year, ENCE is a top 5 team in CS:GO. It may sound crazy, but there it is. Initially, everyone thought that their success wouldn’t last, simply because the roster isn’t exactly filled with superstars. This is more of a hard working lineup with a brilliant IGL. As a comparison, think of FC Porto back when Mourinho was their coach. Except in this case, it’s the captain that does the heavy lifting. No doubt, allu is working miracles during matches and his down to earth attitude has brought him a lot of success in recent months.

#ez4ence

In 2019, ENCE won two small titles, placed 2nd at the IEM Katowice Major and finished 3rd at BPS Sao Paulo. Their most recent result was a 5th – 8th place at StarSeries & i-League CS:GO Season 7. In spite of not doing too well at that tournament, we believe that ENCE is in great shape and will prove themselves at cs_summit 4. Until we get there, ENCE will have one more month to train and play, so our expectations are pretty high. Anything less than a 3rd – 4th place would be a massive failure. In principle, ENCE should play in the Grand Final against Liquid.

Renegades

Like ENCE, this is another former underdog that has come a long way in 2019. Renegades is currently sitting at number 7 in the global rankings and have been a scary opponent to play against since February.

The addition of liazz, Gratisfaction and kassad at the end of September, 2018 has turned out to be one of the most inspired decisions made by the organization throughout their history. Renegades is now firing on all cylinders and in 2019, they got the following notable results: 5th – 8th place at the IEM Katowice Major and 3rd – 4th place at StarSeries & i-League CS:GO Season 7.

What’s inspiring about this team is that even though they have a lot of players who have yet to make a name for themselves, they’re clearly training hard and are hungry to win. Subsequently, they always show up prepared and some of their maps are top notch. The way in which they play them makes even the likes of Na’Vi struggle to beat them.

At cs_summit 4, we expect Renegades to finish 3rd – 4th. This is by far the most likely result they can get.

Team Vitality

Team Vitality is the strongest team that France has had since the glory days of G2 Esports and Team EnVyUs. This is a top 10 competitor in the global rankings and their performances are fairly impressive against most lineups.

In 2019, Vitality won a title at WePlay! Lock and Load, placed 5th – 8th at StarSeries & i-League CS:GO Season 7 and most importantly, finished 9th – 11th at the IEM Katowice Major. They barely missed the Playoffs after losing to NiP in their final match of the second stage. Should they play that match again today, they would probably win it given their current form.

Going into cs_summit 4, we expect Team Vitality to finish 3rd – 4th, unless they can deliver an impressive performance against ENCE or Team Liquid, who are their main obstacles on the path to the Grand Final. Renegades is also stronger than them at this point, but not by much.

NRG Esports

NRG Esports finished 15th – 16th at IEM Katowice and then went on to finish 3rd – 4th at StarSeries & i-League CS:GO Season 7. This is a team with a lot of potential, but we don’t see them doing well against the other big competitors at cs_summit 4. At best, they may get a 3rd – 4th place result, but they would have to beat either Renegades or Team Vitality to achieve that. And they aren’t likely to beat either of these teams.

Ghost Gaming

At this level of Counter-Strike, Ghost Gaming is just filler content. We expect them to lose every single match at cs_summit 4.
