DreamHack Masters Dallas 2019 is a CS:GO event of great importance that’s scheduled to take place between May 28th and June 2nd. The tournament brings together 16 of the world’s top teams and offers them a prize pool of $250.000.

As the name suggests, DreamHack Masters Dallas 2019 will take place in the US, at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center.

DreamHack Masters Dallas 2019 Participants

DreamHack Masters Dallas 2019 features 16 competitors from all over the world.

  • Cloud9
  • ENCE
  • FaZe Clan
  • Fnatic
  • Team Liquid
  • Ninjas in Pyjamas
  • North
  • NRG Esports
  • Renegades
  • Team Vitality
  • Windigo Gaming
  • G2 Esports
  • FURIA Esports
  • Isurus Gaming
  • TYLOO
  • Lucid Dream

Most of these teams are the usual suspects. In particular, Team Liquid, FaZe Clan, ENCE and Renegades constitute the main favorites to win the event, as we mentioned in our previous DreamHack Masters Dallas 2019 article. Other strong contenders are Fnatic, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Team Vitality and Windigo Gaming. We’ll take a look at all of these teams in the next section.

Keep in mind that some of the world’s best teams, such as Astralis and Natus Vincere, are missing from the show. This will allow other competitors to shine and cover themselves in glory. In all likelihood, the winner of the tournament will be one of the first four teams we mentioned. That’s not a 100% probability, but it’s definitely close to that.

DreamHack Masters Dallas 2019 Team Analysis

These are the eight competitors that are worth watching at DreamHack Masters Dallas 2019.

Team Liquid

Team Liquid may not be the best team in the world, but they’re certainly the best team at this event. Liquid’s consistency over the last 15 months has been impressive and the organization managed to deliver results both before the big roster changes as well as after those changes occurred.

This is clear evidence of the fact that the North American organization has an excellent system in place. So it’s more than just one wonder player or one amazing coach, such as it is with Natus Vincere and other organizations. It’s more of a great system put together over a long period of time and as a result, whenever a wheel needs to be changed, the change occurs naturally and Liquid goes back to winning trophies and playing in Grand Finals.

Going into DreamHack Masters Dallas 2019, we expect Team Liquid to get at least a top four finish. Anything less than that would be a disappointment.

FaZe Clan

FaZe Clan had been struggling and showing many signs of weakness until the latest BLAST Pro Series event, where they won by beating Team Liquid in the Grand Final. This was an absolutely superb performance, but the consistency of the team is still in question. So we wouldn’t go as far as saying that FaZe Clan is likely to play in the Grand Final or even win the title at DreamHack Masters Dallas 2019. However, a top four result shouldn’t be so hard to achieve, now that they’ve found a winning formula.

ENCE

ENCE seems to have lost an engine after finishing 2nd at the IEM Katowice Major around two months ago. Since that spectacular result, they finished 3rd at a BLAST Pro Series tournament and 5th – 8th at the recent StarSeries & i-League CS:GO Season 7.

In spite of not being able to maintain their Major form, much like Cloud9 in 2018, ENCE is still a strong competitor and should be regarded as one of the best teams at DreamHack Masters Dallas 2019. Most likely, ENCE will finish the event in the 5th – 6th place.

Renegades

Renegades is the best team that Australia has had in a long time and with their original five man roster, they can go head to head with any other competitor at DreamHack Masters Dallas 2019.

In recent months, Renegades finished 5th – 8th at the IEM Katowice Major and then 3rd – 4th at StarSeries & i-League CS:GO Season 7. Based on their current form, we expect them to compete in the Playoffs and possibly even get to the Semifinals. This team has a lot of potential and are growing stronger with each passing month.

Fnatic

Fnatic got demolished at the IEM Katowice Major but then resurfaced with renewed energy and a clear desire to win trophies again. First they finished 4th at WESG 2018-2019 and then they played in the Grand Final of StarSeries & i-League CS:GO Season 7. They did lose that match against Na’Vi, but the performance was still impressive. Nobody would have expected the Swedes to have such a long run at the event, considering how weak their performance had been in the months prior to it.

If they can maintain their good form, Fnatic will probably survive the Group Stage at DreamHack Masters Dallas 2019 and finish 5th – 6th. It’s not going to be easy though, as they may face quite a few strong competitors along the way.

Ninjas in Pyjamas

NiP is the weaker version of Team Liquid in terms of consistency, in the sense that they are consistently getting good results against the weaker competitors but they are also consistently losing against the better ones. All things considered, NiP is a top 8 team and their performances in 2019 have been relatively good: 5th – 8th at IEM Katowice, 4th at BLAST Pro Series Sao Paulo 2019 and 5th – 8th at StarSeries & i-League CS:GO Season 7.

Another good news for NiP is that dennis is back on the active roster. So the team is playing in its standard formation, which had been playing together for one year.

Going into DreamHack Masters Dallas 2019, we expect NiP to finish somewhere around 5th – 8th. Anything better than that would be a dream.

Windigo Gaming

This is a very underrated team that could explode onto the main stage at DreamHack Masters Dallas 2019. These guys did a U-turn after Shockwave became the team’s coach and went on to win the title at WESG 2018-2019, which was nothing short of a miracle.

Based on what we’ve seen from Windigo in recent months, we expect this team to perform better than most people expect at this tournament. It’s hard to say for now how good they are, but definitely expect some serious matches whenever they’re involved, because their potential is huge.

While it may be too early for Windigo to upset so many teams that they qualify out of the groups, a 7th – 8th place result wouldn’t shock us at all at this point.

Team Vitality

Team Vitality proved at a recent event that they’re the strongest team in France for the time being. Besides winning Charleroi Esports 2019, they also had a number of positive results this year, including a 9th – 11th place finish at IEM Katowice, a title at WePlay! Lock and Load and a 5th – 8th place result at StarSeries & i-League CS:GO Season 7.

Going into DreamHack Masters Dallas 2019, we expect Team Vitality to be a serious competitor that has a real chance of surviving the Group Stage and finishing 5th – 6th. In terms of rivals, Vitality is likely to be defeated by ENCE, FaZe Clan, Team Liquid, Renegades and Ninjas in Pyjamas. Everyone else is on their level or below them. So a Playoffs participation wouldn’t even be that big of a surprise.
