Valdemar ‘valde’ Bjørn Vangså

Valdemar ‘valde’ Bjørn Vangså is an intelligent cyber athlete from Copenhagen, Denmark. He trains in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive for North as the rifler with the ability to lurk with an aggressive playstyle, throwing off his opponents.

Being a pro player, he gets to travel around the world to compete in esports tournaments, having to chance to relax by the pool, relieving the stress. Back home in Denmark, he loves to spend his spare time with his girlfriend refreshing his mind with walks by the sea or country and perhaps a relaxing holiday too with no games.

Where it all began:

Valdemar’s father was always into video games and it was also through his friends that Valde started playing Counter-Strike 1.6 in 2005. He made the choice to quit the military job to pursue his professional career in esports where he practiced CSGO.

Valde was first discovered by gla1ve after meeting him at a party. His talent and dedication to playing and improving have made him quite the top CSGO player since 2016. Bjørn Vangså’s first gift with his prize money was a gaming chair for his father which proved that a gaming career is possible.

The Team:

North is a Danish esports organization based in Copenhagen, which was created by the Football Club Copenhagen and Nordisk Film. The gaming company supports one team that practice professionally in Counter-Strike Global Offensive that started out with former Dignitas players. Since then there have been a few changes to form the best squad with pro players, MSL as Captain, aizy, valde, Mertz and Kjaerbye, taking their gaming levels to new heights.

Competition Participation:

The most recent esports tournaments that Valde and his team North have participated include IEM Katowice 2018, CS Summit 2, Eleague Major Boston 2018, ESL Pro League Season 6 Finals and BLAST Pro Series: Copenhagen 2017 among many esports matches.

Blast Pro Series 2017

Throughout 2017, Valde improved as an individual as well as a team player acquiring the gaming experience whilst also playing for one of the top CSGO teams, North. He had the pleasure of competing against Ninjas in Pyjamas, Heroic, Hellraisers, BIG and Faze Clan which will help Valdemar advance in his career.

Winnings:

The highest accomplishment yet in Valde’s gaming career was at the Eleague CSGO Premier 2017 while representing top esports team, North. Towards the Semifinals, the CSGO team managed to win over teams like Fnatic, Immortals, and Heroic. In the Semis, Northerners lost to Faze Clan, to finish in fourth place claiming a prize of $70K.

The second great win was while competing for North at the DreamHack Open Montreal 2017. On their way to the top four, North has overcome CS squads such as Gale Force Esports, Kinguin, and Cloud9. In the Grand Finals, North stole the show defeating Immortals with a score of 2-0, taking the major title claiming a prize of $50K.

The third achievement for Valde and North was at the DreamHack Masters Malmo. It was the first major tournament for Valde, coming to as close to second place, reaching the grand finals losing to G2 Esports, taking home a prize of $50K.
