Timo ‘Timox’ Siep is a professional player hailing from Overath, Germany, competing for VfL Wolfsburg. He has been practicing FIFA Esports professionally for the past two years and follows football matches to watch his favourite player, Paul Pogba, who plays for Manchester United and France National team.
Timo Siep loves to be the centre of attention with all the cameras on him and in his own way make esports popular. In fact, recently, he flew to London to film a documentary about esports players, who do not just sit at home playing video games but also have free time to practice other hobbies.
Talking about pastimes, TimoX works out at the gym and play football. When he is traveling to participate in FIFA events, be it in France or United Kingdom, he uses his free time in the evenings to go sightseeing and maybe end the day sharing drinks with his friends.
Where it all began:
Timo always liked to play football in his younger days with his friends during lunch breaks. He began practicing with FIFA 06 hoping that one day he could be a professional gamer by watching livestreams. He set himself a goal that he will live off his gaming hobby and attend Major tournaments.
Timo started living his dream of an esports career in FIFA when he was 17 years old. A friend of TimoX had played in an ESL Tournament, climbing the ladder to reach the top 10 and was encouraged to try the FIFA game himself.
VfL Wolfsburg is a German sports club best known for football and FIFA. They also have teams that play Badminton, Handball and Athletics. The Football club was organised for autoworkers that were manufacturing cars at the time in Wolfsburg, which later became the famous Volkswagen Beetle. It was after the Second World War that the Football Club was officially formed and over 70 years later have kept updated with the sports and gaming trends.
Fast forward to the present day, VfL Wolfsburg have partnered up with Stark Esports, to be the first German Football Club to take on gamers. The FIFA players include Benedikt Saltzer, David Bytheway and Timo Siep that compete in esports tournaments on behalf of VfL Wolfsburg.
