The Supernova CSGO competition in Malta is the first esports event in the heart of the Mediterranean that will feature the world's top Counter-Strike teams. The match takes place between the 29th November until 2nd December 2018, where CS gaming fans from around the world will witness all the action at the Intercontinental Arena Conference Centre in St Julians. Eight squads will go head to head for their winning share from a prize pool of $150K. Which team has what it takes to triumph at the Supernova CSGO Malta?
According to EsportsInsider, Malta's Government has revealed that it will help make Malta, an excellent destination for esports. The Supernova CSGO Malta will host the first official International tournament to make its mark in the competitive gaming scene to attract more esports event organisers to the island.
Quickfire CEO Simon Theuma told the Malta Independent newsroom that “attracting esports companies and events to Malta paves the way for Malta to become a mainstay in the global esports circuit for multiple titles.” Talking about the Counter-Strike tournament, he continues saying “given the amount of preparation we're doing for the event, and our industry partners, we can deliver an amazing show."
Quickfire will organise the Supernova CSGO Malta and co-produced by StarLadder. Quickfire is a leading company that forms part of the Eden Leisure Group in the gaming and esports scene in Malta. A tournament of this calibre will take place thanks to the sponsors, AirMalta, Gaming Malta, Intercontinental and Holiday Inn Express and Malta Tourism Authority.
The Supernova CSGO tournament format will feature the top eight Counter-Strike teams that will divide into two groups of four, competing in best-of-three matches. In a single elimination bracket, the best two teams from each group will battle it out with their best strategies, progressing to the Semi-finals. The top two units will battle it out in the final match, where only one Counter-Strike team will win the Supernova gaming event.
