Shahzeeb ‘ShahZaM’ Khan

Shahzeeb ‘ShahZaM’ Khan is a talented 24-year-old American cyber athlete with Pakistani roots. He trains in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive with the responsibility of an awper, holding the bombsite from rooftops helping his Misfits team.

Khan has a love for sports most especially American basketball team, MiamiHeat and also love to watch live snowboarding competitions. He likes to listen to rock music in fact his all times favourites include the Christian rock band from Florida, UnderOath and Deja Entendu. Call it a coincidence or luck, he got a fortune cookie that read ‘you love sports, horses and gambling but not to excess’.

Where it all began:

Shahzeeb loved to play video games like Half-Life 2 and Counter-Strike Source, casually playing with his friends, just for the fun of it. Making a name for himself in the gaming world he started playing scrims and followed everything that was esports events, players and their teams.

He pursued his pro career, joining his first team, Just Cause Project competing in the ESEA Season 10 – Invite division. What ShahZaM likes about his gaming profession is that he gets to travel around the world with his team mates and see the sights.

The Team:

Misfits is a European esports company that was founded by Ben Spoont and SYFY founders, Mitch Rubenstein and Laurie Silvers. Due to popularity in gaming the association supports units that compete in League of Legends, Overwatch, Super Smash Bros, CS: GO and Hearthstone.

Misfits created their CS: GO team in January 2017, acquiring the former Team Solomid lineup. The current roster is made up of five pro players, seangares as the captain, SicK, ShahZaM, AmaNEk and devoduvek.

Competition Participation:

ShahZaM joined Misfits since January 2017, and in that time, he participated in esports events. Starting from the most recent matches, the squad took part in the ESL Pro League Season 6 – North America, iBUYPOWER Masters 2017, World Cyber Arena 2017, DreamHack Atlanta and DH Valencia 2017.

Over the past few months, Misfits have gained some competitive experience against some top teams like Optic, Liquid, Complexity, Soar Gaming, Luminosity, NRG, Renegades, Hellraisers, NV and Red Reserve among many other pro teams.

Winnings:

The highest earnings for ShahZaM was while playing for Optic Gaming at the Eleague Road to Vegas. The CS squad defeated Lounge Gaming in the grand finals with the unbeatable record of 2-0. They took the Major championship title proudly claiming his grand prize of $35K.

While playing for Echo Fox, Khan participated in the Eleague Season 2 in November 2016. At the premier match the CS squad did not do so well in the group stage, losing to G2 Esports. The loss meant that the unit could not advance to the quarterfinals. ShahZaM and his team, Echo Fox finished in 14th place to win their second great reward of $30K.

The most recent win in 2017 for ShahZaM and his team, Misfits was competing at the Americas Minor Championship – Boston 2018. At this major tournament, the CS squad lost to Liquid with a score of 1-2, despite this Misfits reached the Grand Finals, finishing in second place they took home a prize of $15K.
