Ricardo ‘fox’ Pacheco

Ricardo ‘fox’ Pacheco is a Portuguese esports player that competes for Team Dignitas. He practices Counter-Strike: Global Offensive as the awper, having the flexibility to handle support when the need arises. He is a well-known player in Portugal gaming scene for this aggressive playstyle with the ability to score big.

Who said that cyber athletes are focused on gaming all day? Professional players do enjoy their time out too, in fact Ricardo has a passion for Motorcross, offroad racing. Pacheco also loves to spend time caring for his son, who has taken a liking to hearing sounds through the headphones and watches on eagerly while Ricardo plays video games.

Where it all began:

Ricardo was always into video games ever since he was young which became a passionate hobby. He began playing Counter-Strike in 2000 that same year the game was released to the public. Pacheco’s dream was that one day he could make a living out of his gaming pastime by practicing to be an even better CS player.

Ricardo’s competitive gaming career all started in 2007 playing CS 1.6 with his first esports squad, k1ck eSports Club until 2012. His experience in Counter-Strike: Source has made his transition into CS: GO even smoother, developing his shooting skills and fighting strategies with esports units such as Team Kinguin, G2 Esports, Faze Clan and SK Gaming.

The Team:

Team Dignitas is an esports association that was launched in September 2003, based in United Kingdom with a goal to develop their esports reputation as one of the best gaming teams. The association started off with two teams competing in Battlefield 1942 and have expanded to support more units specializing in Heroes of the Storm, League of Legends, CS: GO, Smite, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.

Team Dignitas originally created a unit around Danish CS Source players with captain Mathias MSL Lauridsen. As soon as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive was released, DIG created a team in 2012 and have kept up their gaming reputation attending several esports tournaments. The latest additions were Acilion and loWel to the CS: GO team, to play alongside gamers fox, RUBINO and jkaem.

Competition Participation and Winnings:

Two personal best accomplishments for fox was that he was voted the best awper in CS 1.6 and recognized by gamegune.org as the best entry fragger in the Counter-Strike competition, GameGune 2010.

World Cyber Arena 2017

The most recent CS: GO tournaments that fox and Team Dignitas have participated in was World Cyber Arena 2017, the Qualifiers matches of Europe Minor Championship 2018 – Boston, Dreamhack Denver 2017, IEM Oakland and ESL One Cologne.

CS: GO player fox was playing for SK Gaming when he attended the Eleague Major 2017 to receive the highest winnings. The Counter-Strike team managed to reach the semi-finals but lost to Virtus.Pro with a record of 0-2, despite the loss SK finished third to claim their prize of $70K.

The second great achievement for Pacheco was while with SK where he participated in the ECS Season 2 Finals. Fox and SK Gaming competed against Astralis in the Semi-finals, ranking in third place to win $65K.
