Along his way up to become a top esports player, MiSeRy has acquired the skills to handle all roles in Dota 2. A versatile player who played the carry role for MYM, the mid-lane position for Counter Logic Gaming and the offlaner for Secret. Rasmus has most experience playing support for several renowned teams like EG, LGD, Mousesports, Cloud 9 and Team Secret.
Rasmus likes to break away from gaming, going for a run or cycling in the morning to see the sunrise or sunset. He also appreciates nature, helping his mother gardening back home. In the company of his friends, Filipsen loves drinking and dining, watching live basketball games or esports tournaments on TV, going on hikes in the country and do some rock climbing too.
Where it all began:
Rasmus was not so keen to learn at school, so he skipped classes just to play Dota, which eventually led him to quit school. MiSeRy grew up playing Football, training five times a week, which helped instil competition and strategic thinking.
He started his profession as a gamer in 2008, playing the first version of DotA with the squad Met. In 2010, MiSeRy changed to Dota 2 with his team at the time, MYM so as to compete at The International 2011. From then on he kept his promise to be the best esports player, which motivated him to win more games.
Evil Geniuses is an American esports company that was established in 1999, widely known around the world as one of the top esports teams. The gaming association support units that compete in Rainbow six, PUBG, Call of Duty, Gwent, Super Smash Bros, Street Fighter and Dota 2.
EG created their Dota 2 roster in October 2011 and have since made a name for themselves in the esports scene. The current dota 2 roster consists of Arteezy, Fear, Suma1L, Cr1t- and their latest addition, Misery as team captain.
MiSeRy is a Dota veteran who has competed in every TI event. Filipsen has participated in The Boston Major losing to AD Finem, The Summit 6, Starladder i-League StarSeries Season 2, Nanyang Dota 2 Championships and many more matches.
Through MiSeRy’s gaming profession, a few world-known Dota 2 teams were beaten with his help. Digital Chaos have beaten Newbee at ESL One Genting 2017, Complexity Gaming at The TI 6 American qualifiers, Vici Gaming at the Nanyang Dota 2 Championships.
One great achievement on MiSeRy’s list was at The Shanghai Major. Fillipsen for Team Secret won against Liquid for a jaw-dropping reward of $1.1 million.
Their exceptional performance of MiSeRy and his unit DC was at The International 2016 reaching the grand finals against Wings Gaming. DC Dota 2 team came to a close second place with their heads held high, taking home a sensational $3.4 million.
