Marcelo ‘coldzera’ David is a Brazilian pro gamer that practices Counter-Strike: Global Offensive for MIBR. He has the ability to handle two roles his current position as rifler and when the need arises he could also be an awper. A top player like coldzera was voted by HLTV.org and by The Game Awards as the best esports player of 2016.
Apart from practicing CS in his younger days, he used to love playing Football, instilling in him a sense of discipline and teamwork working towards one goal, to win. In his free time, Marcelo likes to catch up on lost episodes of the TV show, Arrow.
Where it all began:
David started playing Counter-Strike in 2013 while playing for esports team, vTi. He acquired the CS fighting skills competing for other units like Insight, GamerHouse, GoldenGlory and Dexterity among many squads. Marcelo made a name for himself in the CS: GO scene when he joined Luminosity in 2015 until 2016 and now is a part of the world’s top team SK Gaming.
SK Gaming is an esports company that was established in 1997 originally named Schroet Kommando, based in Oberhausen, Germany. The club supports different squads that play games like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Hearthstone and Vainglory.
SK Gaming created their CS: GO roster in 2013 and have become famous as the world’s top team. Lineups have changed over the years and have found a group of pro players that together have raised their gaming levels. The current roster includes Fallen, Fer, coldzera, Taco and felps.
The most recent esports tournaments attended by coldzera and his team SK include Gamers Club Masters 2017, PGL Major Krakow 2017, ECS Season 3 – finals, DreamHack Summer 2017, Intel Extreme Masters Sydney among many more events.
In order to improve their CS: GO strategies, SK have competed against top teams like Astralis, G2, Cloud 9, Virtus.Pro and Ninjas in Pyjamas. They may have lost a few matches along the way but learnt to improve on their mistakes in game to be where they are today.
The greatest win so far for coldzera and SK Gaming was at the ESL One: Cologne 2016. The CS squad won against Liquid with the amazing score of 2-0 to claim their highest prize so far of $500K.
The second great match won by coldzera was at the MLG Major Championship: Colombus while playing for Luminosity Gaming. The squad played against Natus Vincere with the unbeatable record 2-0 to claim their rightful reward of $500K.
Coldzera has proved his fighting skills time and time again and with his help they have achieved great results. David has achieved personal records by being named MVP at ESL Pro League Season 3, cs_summit, IEM Sydney and DreamHack Open Summer 2017.
