Maikil ‘Golden’ Selim

Maikil ‘Golden’ Selim is a talented 23-year-old professional cyber athlete that hails from Eskilstuna in Sweden. He trains in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive for Fnatic as their in-game leader, renowned for his impossible deadly deagle head shots. FNC Golden is proud to carry his team through the bomb site with a motivational positive attitude to help win esports tournaments.

Selim’s favourite pastime is playing football with his friends and also in his spare time you can find him playing in FIFA Esports. Maikil’s all-time favourite song that he likes to listen to is Darude’s Sandstorm. Maikil always liked playing CS: GO, in fact the best weapons that showed off his fighting and shooting skills was with AK-47 and Deagle weapons.

Where it all began:

Maikil began his passion of gaming playing Counter-Strike 1.3 and eventually switched to CS Source however he had to stop to focus on his studies. Once he did his A’Levels, he was practicing the trending video game CS 1.6, realising that there was a future as a professional gamer.

Golden quit his full-time job and pursued a career playing professionally for an esports team, visomvet in 2015. Putting his heart and soul into Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, he moved on to join the Fnatic Academy and has never stopped gaming.

The Team:

Fnatic is an esports company based in United Kingdom that was founded by Sam and Anne Mathews in July 2004. FNC is worldly known as the top team that supports Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2, FIFA, League of Legends, Vainglory and Heroes of the Storm.

Fnatic created their CS: GO team in 2012, creating a name for themselves as the gaming idols in Counter-Strike: Global Offenisve. To carry on the FNC legacy in CS are the professional players, Golden, Krimz, JW, flusha and Lekr0, who stick together through the bad and good times so together they will take their squad to new heights to win esports tournaments.

Competition Participation:

Selim has been with Fnatic since August 2016 participating in recent competitions such as Esports Championship Series Season 4 – Europe, ESL Pro League Season 6 – Europe and Dreamhack Masters Malmo 2017 among many others. There were also some qualifying matches that Fnatic took part in like the WESG 2017 Sweden, IEM XII Oakland and the EPICENTER 2017, naming a few.

Competing for Fnatic, Golden has had the experience to compete against top teams like Godsent, Tyloo, Heroic, Rogue, LDLC.com, Immortals, Red Reserve and Penta Sports among many.

Winnings:

Golden and his team Fnatic have won their highest reward at the 2016 China Top event. The CS squad defeated top team, MVP taking the title of the minor championship, claiming a reward of $71K.

The second great accomplishment was when Golden and FNC participated in the Eleague CS: GO Premier 2017 that was held last October. Despite Fnatic losing to star players, Astralis, they ranked in sixth place to win a prize of $35K. They managed to outrank NV, Natus Vincere, Immortals, Ninjas in Pyjamas, SK Gaming, Mousesports and Virtus.Pro.
