Lae-Young ‘Keane’ Jang is a talented LOL gamer competing for Team Dignitas. He plays the position of mid laner for his squad with his favourite heroes Hecarim, Urgot, Orianna and Viktor. According to statistics in esports tournaments, Jang played his best with Jayce and Twisted Fate.
Dignitas Keane is a South Korean, who moved to New Zealand in November 2013, studying at the University of Auckland. He is known for his in depth knowledge in League of Legends and also has the capabilities to master a wide range of LOL heroes both in top lane as well as in mid lane. In every competition, Keane always has a trick up his sleeve with the capability to change things up in-game.
Jang loves to go out with his friends, watching basketball matches, enjoys the occasional leisure activities like go karting, mini golf and baseball. He loves to spend his free time walking his dog, rooky, giving him the much needed break from gaming especially when stress starts to kick in.
Where it all began:
Lae-Young started playing soccer in his younger days as a hobby, instilling in him a sense of competition to be a better player as well as thinking strategically. He would follow Barclay’s Premier League watching the best teams compete against each other. He felt motivated into gaming watching a match where Manchester United football player, Roy Keane was tackling his opponents.
The first video game he ever played was in fact Defense of the Ancients, playing along with his friends for four years. He transitioned into League of Legends in 2012, becoming famous for practicing video games at a Public Library close to the college campus with the nickname Keane.
Team Dignitas is a gaming company that was established in September 2003, based in United Kingdom. Their very first team was formed playing Battlefield 1942. As esports grew over the years, the association created squads that specialize in League of Legends, CS: GO, Heroes of the Storm, Smite and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.
Team Dignitas formed their League of Legends unit in February 2011, to become one of the leading teams in North America, ranking high in several esports tournaments. The current LOL roster consists of Ssumday, ShrimP, Keane, LOD, Altec, BIG and Adrian, taking their gaming tactics to the next level.
Competition Participation and Winnings:
The highest earnings for Dignitas Keane was the NA LCS 2017 Summer, finishing in fourth place with a winning cash prize of $20K. Dignitas lost to CLG in the finals to determine third place with a record of 3-0.
The second great achievement for Lae Young was while playing for Curse Academy, attending the NA challenger series Summer 2014 playoffs. Reaching the semi-finals Team 8 won over Curse Academy with the score 1-3. Finishing in second place, The proud players claimed their reward of $10K.
Over the course of Keane’s gaming career, he has participated in the North American League of Legends Championships of Spring and Summer Series from 2015 until 2017. Competing against top teams like Cloud9, TSM and Pheonix1 among many others professional LOL squads.
