Kenny ‘kennyS’ Schrub is a pro cyber athlete playing for G2 Esports, training in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. His fans as well as pro players consider him the quickest and most skilled awper and this is the reason why he takes on the sniper role for his team, simply because he is really good at it.
KennyS always wants to be the best and keeps challenging his limits. He is the kind of top esports player that makes the impossible, possible which is what makes him so intense and a true competitor.
In his free time, kennyS loves the company of his family and friends and in fact he makes time for them. He likes to go out clubbing and if he is out he will opt for his favourite alcoholic drink, Jagermeister. If his friends and he decide to stay in they will play FIFA or Playstation. Talking about football, Schrub is a fan of Paris Saint Germain FC and Real Madrid.
Where it all began:
Kenny used to watch his older brother, Cyril play a lot of video games, one of which was Counter-Strike. Watching others play was quite fascinating but even more entertaining for Schrub to try out the shooter game, himself. He started playing CS Source at the age of six, as a way to escape the family problems that were taking place around him. He would return home from school to play CS till late at night.
Kenny who was just eleven and Cyril participated in the local Counter-Strike match and ended up winning the match. From that moment on his brother encouraged him to follow his dream to be a professional gamer. The first squad Schrub joined was Team eXrensive! In 2012 and then made his debut with Very Games.
The Team:
G2 Esports is a Spanish esports company based in Europe, with headquarters in Madrid. The club was founded in November 2013 by Carlos ‘ocelote’ Rodriguez. The gaming association supports several teams that specialize in League of Legends, Hearthstone, CS: GO, Rocket League, Vainglory and Smash.
G2 Esports created a team in CS: GO back in February 2015 with the former ESC Gaming roster. Since then the lineup has gone through changes to help create the best CS team for 2017. The squad consists of Shox, bodyy, NBK, kennyS and apEX to prove the esports world they have the potential to be on top.
Competition Participation:
A memorable moment for Kennys as a player was at DreamHack Cluj-Napoca while playing for NV back in 2015. The CS team won against Navi on a record of 2-0, taking home a prize of an overwhelming $100K. Kenny’s most favourite event was at ESL Cologne 2015 while playing for NV, reaching the finals. They lost to Fnatic, finishing in second place with a score 0-2, scooping a reward of a mind-blowing $50K.
The latest tournaments attended by kennyS and his current team G2 include PGL Major Krakow 2017, ESL One: Cologne, ECS Season 3 – finals, DreamHack Tours, DH Austin and Eleague Major 2017. Growing and improving in his game plays, KennyS has competed against top team like Flipsid3, Faze Clan, Hellrasiers, Gambit Gaming and Heroic among many other units.
Winnings:
The outstanding win for KennyS was while playing for EnVyUs at the World Electronic Sports Games 2016. The CS squad beat Team Kinguin with the score 2-0, taking home the first prize of a stunning $800K.
His second great achievement was with his current team G2, where they competed at ESL Pro League Season 5 – Finals. They beat top unit, North with the unbeatable score 3-1, holding their heads high with pride they claimed $225K.
