Coldzera the best CS Player of 2016 in an interview with us at the IEM Katowice 2017

1. What went wrong against Cloud9 on nuke?

We had two mistakes in the game. When we were 6 vs 6, we played around with the echo, but I listened to the sound, the guy had a famas and I told my team, “it’s the first buy”. But we lost the round and broke our economy again, that was the first mistake.

The second mistake: We won the pistol on city sign and Fer tried to play more aggressively on Niko and he was punished and we lost the two rounds.

2. How do you feel about the many events, that are taking place month on month? Possibly giving an advantage to the less popular teams to study you more, and may have an advantage over you. Do you think that this is true?

Nah, not true. I think when we have a lot of big tournaments, all the teams prepare too much for playing. You do not have a special team all the time to win a tournament. For example, in the last tournament in Las Vegas, VP won, we were close to going to the finals and Astralis didn’t play a great tournament. Astralis had won the previous major but did not have a special team for the Las Vegas tournament. Other times the teams can surprise you, like in this tournament, were Heroic who got the semi-finals and surprised other teams and it’s really good.

3. How do you feel about the all-play tournament format used this year?

I do not like this format, because you play 5 games the same day because if you don’t have a good day, you’ll lose all the games. You can make a lot of mistakes, bad communication all the time and you can’t fix this during the game. That is why I like the B01 format, you can play B01 on the first day and on the second day, if you lose, there’s B03. B01’s are hard because, if you make mistakes in two or three games, then you lose you are out of the game. For example, our team has a lot of good map pools for a B03, if you have a winning record it’s good.

4. What do you think about Immortals progressing so far in this tournament?

Making the top 4 spots for Immortals is good, the practised a lot and when we practice against them, the keep surprising us. In this tournament they surprised a lot of teams, they have a new strategy in Overpass, with a lot of aggressive playing. It’s really good because they bring new things and new ideas and they’re our friends and we hang out together all the time.

We just had to add this hilarious end to the interview, when Coldzera was funny AF:
