Ilya ‘Lil’ Ilyuk is a 21-year-old pro player that was raised in Oleksandria, Ukraine. He dedicates his time training in Dota 2 for his current team, Virtus.Pro. He takes on the support position for his squad, helping them with his signature heroes, Visage, Skywrath Mage and Rubick.

Aside from gaming, Ilya has learnt how to cope with the stress of esports, he works out at a gym and trains in Gymnastics, the high bar. This sport has helped him keep his balance and concentration in check, refreshing his mind and keeping him physically active.

Where it all began:

Ilya began to take an interest in video games thanks to his father who would take him to visit the Internet Café, where his mother worked. They would play console games until it was time to close up. When Ilyuk was around 15-years-old, he moved Moscow to continue his studies. He would use his pocket money to go to an Internet Café to play Dota 2 with other gamers. His gaming talent shone through playing better than everyone in the gaming club.

Ilya became who he is thanks to the people around him who did not believe in him. He would hear statements like ‘You will never be strong!’, ‘You will never go to a gym’, ‘You will never get a red diploma’ which motivated him even more to prove people wrong. Ilya is proud to say that he works out, got his diploma and has also become successful in Dota, fulfilling his dream of doing what he wanted to do in life, becoming a professional player.
