IEM Katowice 2018 – CSGO

IEM Katowice has become one of the biggest esports events held in Europe. This competition will take place from 27th February until 4th March which will be held at the Spodek Arena. The Counter-Strike tournament will feature top teams that will compete for a prize pool of $500K, entertaining audiences worldwide, placing their best CSGO betting online.

After the Dota 2 tournament, ESL One Katowice, the CSGO tournament, Intel Extreme Masters World Championship will take place, the following weekend. Aside from Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, the IEM Katowice 2018 will also be organizing StarCraft II tournament offering a prize pool of $400K as well as the PUBG Invitational, a prize pool of $50K.

Astralis win IEM Katowice 2017

The IEM Katowice 2017 saw Astralis dominating the whole esports event. The star players beat top CSGO teams like Immortals in the group stages, Natus Vincere in the Quarterfinals and Heroic in the Semifinals. In the Grand Finals, Astralis defeated Faze Clan with an unbeatable score of 3-1, taking home a reward of $104K.

There will be sixteen top CSGO teams that will participate at IEM Katowice tournament, at the Spodek Arena. Eight CS squads that were invited include Astralis, Cloud 9, Faze Clan, G2, Ninjas in Pyjamas, SK Gaming and Virtus.Pro.

The organisers have also given a chance for top teams from different regions to go through the qualifiers stages. The participating CSGO squads also include two North American slots for Team Liquid and Renegades, Tyloo representing the Asian region and the Oceania qualified unit, Order. There are five more places have yet to be announced, four of which will represent Europe and one unit that will win the Farmskins Championship.

The IEM Katowice Schedule will kick off with Group Stages taking place on the 27th, 28th February and 1st March. Sixteen units will be divided into two groups of 8 each, where the winners will directly advance to the Semifinals. The Group stage runner-ups will proceed as High seeds to the Quarterfinals while the third-placed units in Losers Round 3 will go through to the Playoffs as Low seeds.

The Semifinals of IEM Katowice is scheduled to take place on the 3rd March in a Bo3, featuring the winners of the GS and winning teams from the Playoffs. The two top CSGO teams will finally go head to head in a Bo5 Grand Final on the 4th March battling for the first prize of a whopping $250K.
