IEM Katowice 2017

IEM Katowice 2017 will be hosted by ESL, bringing all the Counter-strike action at the Spodek Arena in Poland. This prestigious match started in 2006 featuring video games like Counterstrike: Global Offensive, Starcraft 2 and League of Legends. The event IEM Katowice 2017 is held thanks to the  sponsors Intel, HyperX, GFuel, Kinguin and Acer.

The Intel Extreme Masters event is one of the global gaming tournaments held across various continents. Last March 2016, IEM Katowice has set a record for being the most watched event in esports history, attracting over 34 million unique viewers. IEM CS:GO Tournaments in 2017 will be streamed live across different channels such as Twitch, Hitbox, Yahoo and HuoMaoTV to share the event with the rest of the world.

The prestigious match, IEM Katowice 2017 will take place between 3rd and 5th March. Thousands of esports fans will be in attendance at the CS:GO tournament to see which team will take over the title from last year’s winners, Fnatic for the prize pool of $250K.

The Tournament format at IEM Katowuce 2017 will feature the top twelve CS:GO teams that will be divided in two groups of six. Eight CSGO squads will receive a direct invitation whilst the four other units, three European and one from North America will need to fight through the qualifiers to move on to the Playoffs.

The teams who will win the group stage will automatically take part in the quarterfinals round 6. The squads that rank second and third in the group stage will compete in a playoff for a spot in the Semifinals. The units that go through will battle it out in the final match for the CSGO Championship title of IEM Katowice 2017.
