Fortnite x Thunderbolts Coming Soon

A Fortnite x Thunderbolts crossover is officially on the horizon, tying in with the upcoming release of Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts, which hits theaters on May 2, 2025. It’s no surprise to see Fortnite team up with Marvel once again, this has become a staple with nearly every major MCU film. From Avengers to Deadpool, and now the Thunderbolts, Epic Games continues to bring Marvel heroes and antiheroes into the Fortnite universe.

Fortnite x Thunderbolts Crossover Confirmed

This latest crossover has been confirmed by both reliable leakers and Epic Games themselves. It’s 100% happening, and not just in the form of cosmetic items. An in-game event is also planned to celebrate the collaboration, giving Fortnite players even more reason to dive in.

Two major Thunderbolts characters will be making their debut in Fortnite: White Widow (Yelena Belova) and Bucky Barnes (Winter Soldier). Both of these characters play key roles in the upcoming film, and now they’ll be playable in Fortnite with unique cel-shaded designs, giving them that comic book-inspired aesthetic. This visual style is similar to the recently released Deadpool and Wolverine skins.

The full Thunderbolts set is expected to drop in the Item Shop on April 30, just ahead of the movie’s premiere. Here’s what players can expect in the collection:

  • 2 Skins: White Widow and Winter Soldier

  • 2 Emotes

  • 2 Pickaxes

  • 2 Weapon Wraps

  • 2 Back Blings

  • Skin Bundle for a discounted price when purchased together

How to Get the White Widow Skin for Free

Epic is giving players the chance to unlock the White Widow skin early, and for free, via the Thunderbolts Cup, which takes place on April 25. This special event is a Duos tournament, and the top-performing teams in each region will earn early access to the White Widow skin before it hits the Item Shop.

Even if you don’t place high enough to unlock the skin early, there are bonus rewards for reaching certain point thresholds:

  • 40 points: Earn the exclusive White Widow Wrap

  • 8 points: Unlock the Winter Soldier Wrap

Each duo can play up to 10 matches within a 3-hour time window, maximizing their chance to earn points through high placements and eliminations. The scoring system rewards aggressive and consistent gameplay:

  • Victory Royale: 65 points

  • Each Elimination: 2 points

A 10-elimination win, for example, would net a total of 85 points in one match.

With exciting characters, cosmetics, and a competitive event to go along with it, the Fortnite x Thunderbolts collaboration is shaping up to be one of the biggest crossovers of 2025. Whether you’re grinding the Cup or waiting for the Item Shop release, fans of Fortnite and Marvel alike won’t want to miss this.
