ESL One Hamburg 2017

Electronic Sports League is proud to be hosting a Dota 2 tournament, ESL One Hamburg 2017. Eight pro teams have been announced to participate in this event to compete for a prize pool of $1 million. The Major match will take place on October 26 until 29 at the Barclaycard Arena, Hamburg, Germany.

The last Dota 2 event was the ESL One Genting 2017 that proved to be a success with Digital Chaos winning the championship title with a staggering prize of $125K and Newbee the runner-up.

This time around, at the ESL One Hamburg, the top esports team to win the Dota 2 championship will claim a reward of $500K, while the second best team will win $200K.

Eight professional teams from six different regions, Europe, CIS, Southeast Asia, North America, South America and China will get to compete in the Dota 2 major, ESL One Hamburg 2017.

Team Liquid

Team Liquid are one of two that were automatically invited for their recent win in the biggest esports event in Dota 2 The international scooping up the highest prize of a whopping $10.8 million. At the moment Team Liquid are on a winning streak and have won titles such as the StarLadder i-League Invitational #2, EPICENTER 2017, DreamLeague Season 7 and now will bring their Dota 2 action to ESL One Hamburg.

Newbee

The Blue knights have won second place at the most recent dota event, TI7, scooping their prize of $3.9 million. They have kept up their dota 2 strategies working in their favour for the past few premier tournaments Mars Dota 2 League 2017, Galaxy Battles, ZOTAC Cup Masters, The Manila Masters as well as ESL One Genting. Newbee have been invited to take part in the upcoming ESL One: Hamburg, do they have what it takes to be masters of Dota 2?

Team Secret

The Dota 2 team, Secret underwent a roster change after TI7 and it has proved better, qualifying for ESL One Hamburg 2017 as the European team. They participated in the qualifiers of PGL Open Bucharest 2017 beating Mousesports and attended StarLadder i-League Invitational #3 defeating OG. Does Team Secret have what it takes to prove themselves in the main events?

VP are the Dota 2 favourites in CIA region with their consistent and aggressive playstyle have qualified through to ESL One Hamburg 2017 beating Team Spirit, 3-0 and at the AMD Sapphire Dota PIT League, VP defeated Team Empire with the record 3-0. Does Virtus.Pro have what it takes to go even further than the quarterfinals?

Keen Gaming

The two esports rosters under EHOME left the company compete for Keen Gaming, a new Dota 2 team that was formed in China in September 2017. They managed to qualify for the ESL One Hamburg beating LGD with a record 3-2 to attend their very first Major under Keen Gaming. To what end will the Chinese Keen team go?

HappyFeet

With the likes of Mineski and TNC ruling the SEA region, HappyFeet proved everyone wrong in the qualifiers of ESL One Hamburg 2017 winning against Clutch Gamers with a record 3-0. Watch out for HappyFeet as they are a squad not to be underestimated. Their first experience at Major tournament will certainly boost their fighting spirit and improve on their gaming skills. Will the asian players come out with happy feet to win their first Major Trophy?

Evil Genuises

The North American Evil Dota 2 Geniuses have not been evil enough since The Manila Major last May 2017, defeating Newbee. It looks like EG are still looking forward to win an ESL trophy. The closest they have ever come was second place in ESL One Frankfurt 2015 and ESL One New York 2014. Wil their dark side come back to haunt their opponents?

SG Esports

The South American team of Brazilian players have another shot to show off their Dota 2 potential at the major, ESL One Hamburg. They are a team considered the biggest wildcards after surprising their fans upsetting Team secret at The Kiev Major. Are the Dota Gamers of SG esports ready to take on the world’s best teams?
