Christopher ‘GeT_RiGhT’ Alesund is a Swedish cyber athlete who currently plays for Ninjas in Pyjamas. His responsibility towards his team is that of captain and the sneaky rifler showing off his eccentric plays giving esports fans a gaming spectacle. GeT_RiGhT is the most hyped CS: GO player, famous for his unusual gaming tactics and high pressure situations, stunning his opponents with his smart moves.
Where it all began:
When Christopher was around nine, he was introduced into the world of gaming by his older brother, Robin. He was exposed to computer games like Starcraft, Warcraft and Conquest of Camelot, Quake and Doom. While sharing the computer, Alesund had accidentally deleted the video games, Half Life and Counter-Strike, he got so scared of his brother that he hid in the closet.
When Alesund was around 14, he was exposed to Counter-Strike. He used to follow another professional gamer, HeatoN in the prestigious CS events, which motivated him to be a pro gamer.
The Team:
Ninjas in Pyjamas is a Swedish esports company that was founded in 2000. They are world famous for their competitive history in Counter-Strike, competing at top level, playing their best at any game. NiP supports two teams that compete in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and League of Legends.
NiP started with a lineup that competed in Counter-Strike 1.6 until in 2007 the team dissolved. The esports association created a new lineup to play CS: GO in 2012, obtaining a victory in the DreamHack Valencia 2012. Over the years there were a lot of roster changes for the better of the team with the latest additions of REZ and former Epsilon esports player, draken. The CS: GO NiP roster consists of Xizt as the team captain, f0rest, GeT_RiGhT, draken and REZ.
Competition Participation:
Ninjas in Pyjamas have lately ranked between 5th and 14th place in several of the most recent competitions such as the Esports Championship Series Season 3 – Europe, ESL Pro League Season 5 – Europe, cs_summit, Starladder i-League Starseries Season 3, IEM XI – World Championship and DreamHack Masters Las Vegas 2017.
GeT_RiGhT has had the opportunity to play for Fnatic and SK Gaming as well as the Swedish esports national team. Acquiring the gaming experience with top teams has helped him become the professional player he is today, competing against the likes of Navi, Virtus.Pro, Astralis, Mousesports, Solomid, NV and many more.
Winnings:
Christopher’s great achievements was when he was voted the Counter-Strike player of the year in 2013 and 2014 by HLTV.org. This is truly proof that his game plays are worth following for he managed to beat his gaming idol, HeatoN.
The highest earnings GeT_RiGhT won together with NiP was at the Starladder i-League StarSeries Season 2. The CS team won the title against G2 Esports, taking home a reward of a stunning $130K.
Ninjas in Pyjamas second great accomplishment was at the Intel Extreme Masters XI – Oakland. GeT_RiGhT and his team won the match, beating SK Gaming with a record 2:1, scooping the prize of $128K.
