The Blast Pro Series Lisbon will be gathering all esports fans to celebrate all that is Counter-Strike: Global Offensive to close the series in 2018. The CSGO tournament will take place in the weekend of 14th till 15th December, bringing keen gaming fans to witness the most entertaining matches. The world’s top six Counter-Strike teams will get to compete to win their share from a prize pool of $230K.

After the success of the Blast Pro Series in Copenhagen, the next CSGO tournament of the series will take place in Lisbon at the Altice Arena with a capacity of 20,000 seats that will be filled by Counter-Strike fans. The Blast Pro Series Lisbon is the fourth tournament of the series that will bring an energetic atmosphere with live streaming of the CSGO action. 

 

The Blast Pro Series in Lisbon is the perfect place for an esports tournament. Being one of the oldest cities, Lisbon is recognised as the capital of Portugal, playing a vital role in Media, Entertainment, Tourism and Finance. The city has a long history of heritage and sports, having hosted the UEFA 2014 Football Championship, it is the hub where competition takes place.

BPS at Altice Arena Lisbon

The top six CSGO teams will battle it out live on stage in the Altice Arena, where you can tune in to watch the online live streaming or TV channels reaching over 200 million people in five continents all over the world. As a Counter-Strike fan, you would not want to miss out on the action for after all; this is competitive gaming at its best.

 

On top of this, the Counter-Strike tournament will feature top esports players like MIBR player Gabriel ‘Fallen’ Toledo, Astralis player Nicolai ‘dev1ce’ Reedtz and Faze Clan gamer Nikola ‘NiKo’ Kovac. These are a few of the best cyber athletes that have played an important role to help each of their teams win matches.

The Blast Pro Series Lisbon will see top units competing in the group stage tournaments adding points for each unit that will be decisive in the standings. The top two squads that score the most points will automatically progress to the Grand Final on the 15th December.

The well-known American esports team, Cloud 9 started with the most significant win yet at the Eleague Major: Boston 2018, taking home a prize of $500K. Their winning streak continued at the WESG 2017 North American Finals as well as the CS Summit 2. From the Starladder & i-League StarSeries Season 4, Cloud 9 was on a losing streak finishing on average between the 5–8th place due to the roster changes that took place. The unit have just added their fifth player, Fabien 'KioShiMa' Fiey to the active lineup. With intense training, skill and great CS strategies, Cloud 9 could surprise gaming fans in this tournament.

The Swedish Counter-Strike team, NiP have had a few significant achievements winning the first prize of $30K beating Optic Gaming at the Europe Minor Championship – London. NIP also finished in second at Blast Pro Series: Copenhagen 2018 and third at DreamHack Masters Stockholm 2018. The Brazilian CS squad MIBR were finalists at the Blast Pro Series Istanbul but lost to Astralis. Their most significant win yet was at the ZOTAC Cup Masters, outplaying Team Kinguin with an unbeatable 3-0 score. Participating at the Blast Pro Series Lisbon will MIBR manage to beat the likes of Natus Vincere and Astralis?

 

Faze Clan

The European players competing for Faze Clan have failed to qualify for the ESL Pro League Season 8 Finals. The squad performed better at the IEM Chicago and the Blast Pro Series Copenhagen was finishing in fourth place. Faze Clan's great recent win this year was the EPICENTER 2018 taking home the title and $150K prize. Participating in the Blast Pro Series, Lisbon will Faze beat the likes of the Ninjas or Cloud 9?

The squad's best performance yet is the FACEIT Major London losing to Astralis placing second taking home a grand prize of $150K.
