Andreas ‘Nevix’ Karlsson

Andreas ‘Nevix’ Karlsson is a Swedish gamer that forms part of the competitive Misfits team. His responsibility within the OW squad is playing the DPS role, showing his gaming talents with his signature heroes like Genji, Tracer and Ana.

His experience as a player has given him the ability to handle other positions like the off-tank and support role. Nevix helps his team to win esports matches; by planning out different strategies with spontaneity like for example delaying the opponents while his team mates get back into the fight.

Where it all began:

Andreas started his professional gaming career back in October 2015 with Eccentric Gaming. Training and practising in Overwatch, he made himself a name in the Swedish esports scene with VALFARD, SK Gaming, Ventus Gaming and IMPULSE 11.

The Team:

Misfits, an esports organisation was established in May 2016 by Ben Spoont. Due to the company’s success, the club expanded to support teams that compete in League of Legends, Overwatch, Super Smash Bros, CS:GO and Hearthstone.

Misfits Overwatch team was created in September 2016, signing on the former Graviton Surge players. Nearly every time the squad won a tournament there was a roster change which has led to the current roster that is made up of Nevix, Zebbosai, Manneten, TviQ, Reinforce and Mineral.

Competition Participation:

The most recent esports tournaments Nevix and his team have participated include OW Contenders Season Zero: Europe, Overwatch APEX Season 2, IEM Season XI Gyeonggi, Alienware Monthly Melee: Europe November, 2016 ESL OW Atlantic Showdown – Gamescom and many others.

Karlsson’s very first esports tournaments include the GosuGamers Overwatch Weekly matches with Eccentric Gaming. With Arcane Esports, Nevix participated in the Gameon Overwatch Cup and the ESL Community Cup and many others.

Karlsson and his team, Misfits have competed against some top teams such as Dignitas, Faze Clan, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Rogue, Reunited and EUnited. Attending esports matches, battling against top teams has helped Nevix step up his game and make a name for himself in the Overwatch scene.

Winnings:

The greatest win for Nevix was with Misfits winning the Overwatch Open with the score 3:1 defeating the top team EnVyUs. The squad took home a prize pool of $100K, claiming the title and earning their highest reward yet.

Their second accomplishment was at the major tournament, DreamHack Winter 2016 while competing for Misfits. The OW team beat Fnatic, a top team in the world of esports with the close score 3:2, they took the DH Winter title, taking home a reward of $30K.
