Biography

Andreas Franck ‘Cr1t‘ Nielsen is a 21-year-old esports player that hails from Denmark. He trains and competes in Dota 2 for his team, Evil Geniuses, playing his support role with signature heroes Riki for his invisibility, Io as the life-force wisp and Earth Spirit.

Aside from gaming, Andreas loves to spend time with his friends, perhaps go-karting, He loves traveling to different countries, in fact, some of the places that Nielsen visited was London, Rome, Moscow, and Vienna. Other than gaming, Andreas follows his favourite English football team in the Premier League, Arsenal FC whilst eating his preferred meal of vongole with spaghetti.      

 

Where it all began:

Andreas became interested in video games like Warcraft III and DotA through his cousin with whom he used to play casually. He would participate in local matches and practice with a goal to become one of the top dota players in the world.

Nielsen made the smooth transition into Dota 2 and began his professional gaming career in June 2012 with his first esports team, Gamer University. Since then he has played for other top esports teams like H2k Gaming, Lions Pride, Team Life, Mousesports, Monkey Business and OG.

 

The Team:

Evil Geniuses is one of the oldest North American esports companies launched in 1999. They built a reputation in the gaming world with successful results in every gaming tournament EG participated. At present, the association supports pro teams that compete in Dota 2, Street Fighter, Super Smash Bros, Gwent, Call of Duty, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and Rainbow Six.

Evil Geniuses created their Dota 2 team in October 2011, making a name for themselves. The professional team consists of Arteezy, Suma1L, Fear, Cr1t- and their latest addition of Misery who together will improve on their communication and gameplay to get back on track.

 

Competition Participation:

The most recent esports tournaments where Cr1t and his team, Evil Geniuses participated include Galaxy Battles II: Emerging Worlds, Captains Draft 4.0, Dota Summit 8, DreamLeague Season 8, ESL One Hamburg 2017, PGL Open Bucharest as well as The International 2017.

Due to the recent roster changes, Evil Geniuses have to step up their game, improving on their mistakes. The Dota 2 team have acquired the gaming experience competing against VGJ.Thunder, OG, Complexity, Newbee, LGD Gaming and many more.                                                                                  

Winnings:

The highest earnings for Andreas was while playing for his previous team, OG at The Manila Major 2016. On the way to the finals, OG dominated the upper brackets, beating Navi, MVP Phoenix and Newbee. In the finals, the dota team faced off Team Liquid defeating them with a score of 3-1, winning the Manila Major title, claiming a prize of $1.1 million. Due to his incredible performance, Cr1t made his mark with Earth Spirit and Lion which led to him being named MVP of the match. 

Another accomplishment for Nielsen was at The Frankfurt Major 2015 competing for Team OG. The dota 2 team dominated the Lower Brackets beating Fnatic, Mineski, Virtus.Pro, CDEC Gaming, EHOME and Evil Geniuses. OG managed to reach the finals to beat Team Secret with an unbeatable record of 3-1, taking the Major title.
