Amanda ‘rain’ Smith

Amanda ‘rain’ Smith is a Canadian esports player dedicated to playing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Having played for 12 years CS, her responsibility is taking on the role of entry fragger for Team Dignitas to help win esports tournaments.

Smith loves to spend time with her friends, dining, clubbing or perhaps watching a film. When attending an esports event, rain and her team get to travel together and make sure to break off from CS: GO, seeing the sights, celebrating their wins with drinks and music.

From the Dignitas female team, Amanda practices the most Counter-Strike, perfecting her gameplays and aims. She has a tendency to get blank but she quickly regains concentration in-game. For nearly every esports tournament that Smith attends, she wears her penguin slippers for luck.

Where it all began:

Amanda was always competitive in every game she played whether it was sports at school, board games or video games. Rain made sure that she practiced to be a better player for her team. Her first encounter with computer games was Counter-Strike 1.6 in 2007.

In 2014, realizing how big Counter-Strike was becoming, like many gamers Amanda made the switch to play professional CS: GO. In order to pursue a pro career rain, artStar and EMUHLEET formed a CS: GO squad so they could develop their skills and strategies so as to compete in international esports tournaments.

The Team:

Team Dignitas is a gaming organization that was established in September 2003, with its headquarters based in United Kingdom. Starting out with two pro teams that played Battlefield 1942, they became successful in esports matches and secured their first sponsor. From that moment on, DIG grew to support teams that play Heroes of the Storm, League of Legends, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and Smite.
