Richard ‘Xizt’ Landstrom

Richard ‘Xizt’ Landstrom is a professional esports player from Umea, a northern town in Sweden. He is currently the captain of the gaming team, Ninjas in Pyjamas, practicing CS: GO as the entry fragger.

NiP Xizt has a unique set of skills leading his CS squad while having the ability to handle stressful situations, predicting the opponents’ game plan. Landstrom is the quite the instrumental Ninja player who is always on top of his game with his deadly sharp aim, to help his unit win esports tournaments.

Richard had shown a keen interest in computer games, by watching his older brothers. When he turned 11, Landstrom was encouraged to try Counter-Strike 1.6, his very first game. He started his professional career in esports in 2009 with the squad, Laget but made a name for himself while playing for H2K Gaming in 2010.

The Team:

Ninjas in Pyjamas is a Swede esports company that was founded in 2000. The NiP organisation supports two teams at the moment, CS:GO and League of Legends. The Ninjas have collaborated with John De Sohn to produce a track ‘Standing when it falls down’, giving motivation to win esports competitions.

The Ninjas have been around esports for the last seventeen years so they have quite a considerable amount of gaming experience. Ninjas in Pyjamas created a new CS roster in 2012 and since than have gone through a few roster changes. The current NiP roster consists of Xizt as in-game leader, GeT_RiGhT, f0rest, draken and REZ, the latest player that joined Ninjas in Pyjamas.

NiP are known for their humour whilst playing Counter-Strike during their warm-ups, look out for their hilarious crab-walking moves and their ‘military-style’ of communication.

Competition Participation:

Ninjas in Pyjamas have participated in the ESL One Cologne 2017, CS Summit Los Angeles, IEM XI World Championship and DreamHack Masters Vegas. NiP generally rank from fifth to eleventh place but they are also a team full of surprises, stunning their opponents while entertaining their fans.

NiP have competed with some of the world’s top esports teams such as Fnatic, Astralis, Cloud 9, Mousesports, Immortals, Vega Squadron and Space Soldiers, proving their gaming potential.

Winnings:

Their most recent win was DreamHack Valencia 2017 winning against Red Reserve with the score 2:0, taking home a prize of $50K. At the Intel Extreme Masters XI – Oakland, Ninjas in Pyjamas beat SK Gaming, the top team in CS: GO world rankings. The unit took the IEM Championship title to claim their well-deserved prize of $128K.

The highest earnings for NiP Xizt was at the StarLadder StarSeries Season 2, winning the first prize of $130K. The Ninjas defeated G2 Esports with the record 2:0, ranking them higher in the CS:GO gaming levels.
