Michael ‘Shroud’ Grzesiek

Michael Grzesiek whose nickname is ‘shroud’ is a Canadian competent gamer, taking on the role of a rifler. He became famous through his twitch stream and his talent in Counter-Strike shone through.

His original alias was ‘Eclipse’ but since someone else had taken that name, he opted for the first synonym he found which was ‘Shroud’. Practicing a maximum of ten hours a day, Grzesiek is known for his accurate aims, lurking and clutching capabilities. He has the best mechanic playstyles, making him deadly in his performances as a rifler.

Where it all began:

When Michael was about seven, his father introduced him to video games like Battlefield and Counter-Strike 1.6 and Source. As experienced as he is in the game having competed for over ten years, he became a popular player through his Twitch stream gathering over 8000 viewers.

Cloud 9 is an American gaming company that hosts different teams that specialise in games like League of Legends, Call of Duty, CS: GO, Dota 2, Overwatch, Hearthstone and many more.

C9 CS:GO was originally formed in August 2014 by Jack Etienne, who signed on the former coL players after their performance at the EMS One Katowice 2014 competition. With a few roster changes along the years, their present lineup consists of nothing, shroud, Skadoodle, Stewie2k and autimatic.

Shroud and his team have most recently competed at the premier matches, IEM Masters XI – World Championship, Dreamhack – Las Vegas 2017 as well as the qualifier tournament, StarLadder i-League Season 3.

Winnings:

Out of 55 tournaments played since 2014, Shroud has earned a total prize winning of around $172, 980. Shroud’s biggest win so far has been the ESL Pro League Season 4, where they reached the finals. They took the title from SK Gaming to win a reward of a surprising $200K.
