Lucas ‘Mendokusaii’ Hakansson

Lucas ‘Mendokusaii’ Hakansson is a Swedish pro gamer playing the DPS position for the Cloud 9 Overwatch roster. While he is known to be charismatic with a funny personality, Lucas has the drive to be the best at what he does, training ten hours a day in OW with his signature heroes Tracer, Genji, McCree.

Where it all began:

Hakansson was 4 years old when he started playing Counter-Strike. On his sixth birthday, Lucas got his own Steam account, playing the video game, Vidya Team Fortress 2.

In 2012, Mendokusaii started competing competitively in CS:GO and Natural Selection 2 but he did not find these video games enjoyable to take to the next level professionally. Hakansson grew tired of Counter-strike until he came across Overwatch that led him to be the pro gamer he is today.

The Team:

Cloud 9 is an NA esports organisation that have several professional teams focusing on different games like LOL, CS:GO, Dota 2, Super Smash, Heroes of the Storm and Overwatch. Growing the company, Jack Etienne, the general manager signed up the former google me players to form an OW unit in March 2016.

The current C9 lineup consists of Surefour, Adam, Mendokusaii who joined in October 2016 together with Roolf and ryb. The last new addition to the current roster is Gods replacing Kyky who left to join EnVyUs.

Competition Participation:

Their most recent competition they attended was the premier match, Overwatch APEX Season 2. The team came in tenth place.

OW Apex Season 2

Mendokusaii attended the first event with C9 at the Qualifiers match, Masters Gaming Arena 2016: Americas Open event. Lucas and his unit have also participated in Alienware Monthly Melee since October 2016, Minor Route 66 Cup, DreamHack Winter 2016 qualifying stages among many tournaments.

Winnings:

Mendokusaii and his team have achieved their great win at the MLG Vegas 2016. Cloud 9 lost to Team EnVyUs, finishing in third place at the major tournament, they walked out with a $12K reward.
