Fernando ‘fer’ Alvarenga is a Brazilian professional esports player that was brought up in Resende, Rio de Janiero. He takes on the role of entry fragger practicing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive for SK Gaming. Fer is a fan of a pro player from Faze Clan, Olofmeister for his incredible CS playstyle.
Fer is quite the competitive player when it comes to football, he considers himself the best in the SK team. Apart from following Counter-Strike events, Fernando likes to watch Dota 2 and LOL competitions, learning different ways of gaming strategies.
Alvarenga owns three dogs for their lively characters that make his day, taking them on country walks in his spare time. On occasion Fer likes to eat his favourite Japanese food as well as sushi. If he had to be a superhero for a day, he would be the Flash, always rushing to places and perhaps on occasion arrives late too.
Where it all began:
Fernando started playing professionally in 2011 with Counter-Strike 1.6 when he started studying at University. In the beginning, fer did not like professional gamers most especially Fallen’s team and made it his goal to beat them. He tried many a time and when he finally fulfilling his mission, he made his presence felt and fallen asked him to join their team. Fer is the kind of player who has the skills with the ambition to prove his potential to be the best in CS.
The Team:
SK Gaming was launched in 1997 under the original name ‘Schroet Kommando’ a European esports company set up in Oberhausen, Germany. They have grown to become a well-known gaming team, most especially famous at the moment for their CS: GO team that ranks first according to HLTV.org.
SK Gaming signed on the former Luminosity CS: GO roster in July 2016. The latest roster change took place with the swap of fnx with felps in February 2017 to make up the current SK CS: GO lineup that also includes Fallen as team captain, fer, coldzera and Taco to continue winning esports tournaments.
Competition Participation:
The most recent Counter-Strike Competitions that fer and SK participated include DreamHack Masters Malmo 2017, Gamers Club Masters 2017 and PGL Major Krakow 2017, Eleague Major and Dreamhack Masters Vegas.
SK Gaming have earned their way to be the top CS: GO team in the world, winning esports titles such as the ESL One: Cologne, ECS Season 3, DreamHack Summer, IEM Sydney and the CS_Summit.
Winnings:
The highest winnings earned by fer and his team SK Gaming was at ESL One: Cologne 2016. The Counter-Strike team defeated Liquid with a score 2-0, to claim ESL title and their grand prize of $500K. Another amazing win under SK was at Esports Championship Series Season 3 where the CS squad reached the finals. They took the ECS Season 3 title beating Faze Clan with a record of 2-1 to win the first prize of $250K.
A second great accomplishment for pro player Fer and his team Luminosity was at MLG Major Colombus. The CS: GO unit battled against Natus Vincere with an unbeatable score of 2-0 to win a staggering prize of $500K.
