Edward Gaming (EDG)

Edward Gaming or also known as EDG is a Chinese esports club that was founded by Eide Zhu, basing their operations in Guangzhou on September 13, 2013. The gaming company is famous for their professional League of Legends team in fact due to the past successes EDG used to support units in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Hearthstone but eventually disbanded. So they ultimately launched new squads that now compete in Rocket League and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.

EDG created their LOL roster with their first lineup that consisted of pro players, ClearLove, fzzf, Koro1, NaMei and U. The squad have achieved success at the 2014 IET League of Legends, LPL Spring and Summer Championships that led them to qualify for the S4 World Finals. Edward Gaming kept their consistent performances in League of Legends to win the LPL Spring and MSI Invitational in 2015.

In 30 League of Legends esports matches that EDG has participated so far, the unit took 19 LOL championship titles that placed them first. Their winning prize pools ranged from a surprising $900 that grew to a spectacular reward of $225K.

The current five players that form the LOL team include Hope, ClearLove, Ray, Haro, Scout, Meiko and iBoy. Since the foundation, Edward Gaming has participated in The World Championships 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017. This year, the EDG gamers hope to fare well, taking part in the Worlds League of Legends Tournament 2018 that will take place in September until October.

EDward Gaming PUBG Team

The EDG esports club announced their new PUBG team in December 2017. At the moment they have two lineups, team one consists of He ‘Spz’ Ming-Yang as the team captain, Yu ‘milkbaby5’ Shao-Jie, Tang ‘Jiuyan’ Rui-Zhe and Le ‘Jhin’ He who will take on the starter positions. The second EDward Gaming PUBG team is made up of Wu ‘West’ Jun-Xi as the in-game leader, Chang ‘CooL1n’ Jia-Hao, Liu ‘Jiu’ Hui-Ze, Lu ‘Polaris’ Cong-Wei, ‘Hannya’ and ‘Special’ taking on the starter position within the team.

So far the EDG PUBG team have participated in the PCPI 2018 Qualifiers, QGC Spring Invitational 2018, Zhanqi TV King of Miramar Week 3 and Douyu PUBG Gold Series S3. The most significant accomplishment as a unit was when they finished in second place at QuanMInTV Lunar New Year Cup last March, winning the highest cash prize yet in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds tournament so far talking home a total of $4,700. There is a beginning for everything most especially a fascinating journey for the EDward Gaming professionals of these two squads, hoping that in future they will take their gaming levels to new heights, outplaying top teams to carry the Championship trophy.

EDward Gaming Rocket League Team

EDG has recently announced on their official website that their new Rocket League team known as Rocket Alliance was created on the 27 July 2018. Although the squad do not have the competitive experience yet, pro players cannot wait to show the world their insane stunts and smart football strategies.
