From the 16th June until the 18th June, an intense weekend of Call of Duty looks to captivate fans and crown a champion. Taking place at the Anaheim Convention Center, CWL Anaheim is back to fish out a winner from a steamy swamp of 176 teams from all three regions.  Groups have been drawn, all of which to be completed by relegation and open bracket teams. Anaheim is probably one of the most historic COD events, witnessing epic and memorable action.

A top team such as Envyus, who have been on a drought since September 2016 regarding titles, really need to step it up with at least a top 4 finish. On the other side of things, European teams Epsilon, Splyce, Elevate and Aussies Mindfreak are hoping to surprise following Splyce’s monumental victory at the Stage 1 Playoffs.  Among the expectations is the controversy, mainly between Faze and eUnited recently. Faze Zooma was recently hospitalized due to a leg injury and may not be playing, potentially forcing Faze coach Replays to enter the ring for the first time in three years. Speculation arose when Clayster helped eUnited win a 2K by filling in for Gunless. Will Gunless participate with eUnited after contracting issues?

The group of death this time round is surely Group D, consisting of Optic Gaming, eUnited, Mindfreak and a couple other teams to be decided shortly. Recent failure at the Stage 1 Playoffs for Optic Gaming, falling to a haunting 7th place will surely invigorate the men in green to bring it. eUnited have rumored that ‘Swarley’ is to replace ‘Gunless’. Such a short fill-in is definitely great news for the side of Mindfreak to confidently enter the bracket stage.

An air of tension, anxiety and every other word that regards a quickening of the heart is present. Serious shifts in favorites may occur due to strong relegation teams such as the likes of Cloud9, Red Reserve and Millenium.  The $200,000 prize pool patiently waits for a team to claim it. We’ll watch every moment building up to that transaction.
